Green Eyed Monster, musings by Lynne
Levi has become a complete velcro kitty. He follows me everywhere. He is always running beside, in front of, or behind me when I move through the house. He is super jealous when I give attention to the other beasts and jumps right in for his fair share of my affection, without fail. He also...

Acute Renal Failure by 22brix
Tortle, my 8 1/2 year old tortoiseshell kitty has been diagnosed with acute renal failure. It does not appear to be related to food (she doesn't eat any of the recalled foods). Her creatinine is over 11 and her BUN is a little over 100--the phosphorus level is elevated, too--I think around 8....

Please don't flush your cat poop - Toxoplasmosis and Sea Otters by Lynne
I just came across this article on Feline Pine's website and am going to stop flushing my kitty poop, even though I'm nowhere near California. If Toxoplasmosis harms Sea Otters, I would guess it's a problem for other water critters. http://www.naturesearth.com/specialalert.html Dear Cat...

Is My Cat Having a Problem? by Stacia
My cat Simon started acting weirdly about an hour ago and I don't know if I'm worrying too much or what. Simon was kind of freaking out with some weird meows, but I thought he saw a squirrel so I didn't think anything about it until he got kind of jumpy. He started running a few feet like he...

New cat owner with obese cat by Dom
I adopted a cat (my first) that is 33 lbs, and I need help finding a good food for him. I got him a mate to get him moving but no success there. He gets a 3oz can of wet food, and so does his mate, but I think he takes most of his mate's food. I also give him about a cup of dry food, and another...

CRF in Alex by cindys
Well, I just got the bad news from the vet. Alex, who is 16 years old, is just beginning CRF. The vet told me in addition to switching his food to NK, I should begin weekly subcu fluids. She stated that by so doing, since he is still in the very early stages of the disease process, it is...

We Have New Laws To Protect Animals in UK/Animal Welfare Laws by sheelagh
Last Friday, new laws came into force to protect all animals in the UK. I am delighted to know that they have come in to force at last because they were desperately needed. I only wish that they had come into force a few weeks ago ,because it would have made all the difference to Ringo & all of...

I'M So Angry!! Ringo has been shot with a BB Gun by sheelagh
Words fail me.... Last night I went outside to call Ringo in & when there was no response, I knew in my gut that there was something Very Wrong Because Ringo is always here for dinner time.... I searched the front of the house, then out the back, but there was no Ringo. I decided to leave it half...

Recall - lab tests show melamine in unrecalled food by buglady
The best advice is to still stay away from wheat gluten in any pet food. Three Nutro cat varieties not on recall list found to contain melamine in private lab test. What this really means is anyone's guess, as no one is really sure if melamine is actually doing anything (due to lack of studies in...
