Does a spayed female cat still come into heat? by

Hello
A question demonstrating rather a lot of ignorance - sorry - but in the case
of neutered males in some animals, the various biological processes of
coming into season...

My First Kitten by
cybercat
Those of you who have been reading the group for a while know that we lost
our beloved tuxedo girl last March to cancer, and have been giving ourselves
time to grieve before adopting another. My husband had his heart set on a
baby, but I have always adopted adults (figuring most people want...

Cats Winking Their Eyes by
Curse Of Millhaven
Sometimes I will wink at a cat and it will wink back, same eye. Is it
copying me, does it mean anything? Do cats communicate with people
this way? I have noticed this with lots of cats throughout the years,
my sister too. Any ideas?

2 Questions On The Menu Foods Situation by
[email protected]
1. Does anyone have a complete list off all brands that use Menu Foods
(Not just the recall list). I've unsuccessfully spent hours trying to
come up with this.
2. Does anyone know if Menu manufactures dry food? The only place i've
found anything about this is on the PETA website, & they...

Wondering if certain foods are okay for cats. by
lucy707 via CatKB.com
Hi. I was just wondering if there are any safe fruits or veggies that I could
feed to my cat. Everytime I eat she begs for food, and of course I don't give
her any, but I still feel bad and I was wondering if there's anything that I
could give her as a treat once in a while so she doesn't fell like...

Hyperthyroid cat...update and a question by
[email protected]
All,
Just wanted to drop a note to everyone to let them know that Katie's
thyroid has finally stabilized and her dosage is one half a Tapazole
daily. Her behavior has changed somewhat since she's been on the
meds. She's become a lot more needy and loves to sit on my lap all
the time. This is...

Diarrhea concern by
Mike
My cat is male and about 13 years old. About 2 weeks ago he started
having diarrhea with really watery eyes (might not be related...about
4 times a year he'll get the runny eyes for about a week). He also
licks himself "down there" so much that he's lost hair on his tail.
Since then we've taken...

Sensitive stomach? (Was Innova and Diarrhea) by
Amy
Hi,
I posted a short while back about my cats suddenly developing diarrhea
(and vomiting) in reaction to their usual Innova diet. I've been since
experimenting with other brands (Burns, California natural, etc) and after
a month of this insanity, I finally try Royal Canin's formula for
Sensitive...

hyperthyroidism by
Grawun
Does anyone have a cat with a hyperthyroid problem? Mine has been on
meds for some time but it seems now is the time I have to make a
decision about further treatment. Surgery, radiation, iodine
injection, whatever. Does anyone have some advice or information that
will help me make a good decision?

Julie
My 9 week old kittens(2) don't seem to groom themselves very well. They
clean there paws some and there tummy, but don't get the food off from
underneath there neck and don't clean there self after they use the litter
box. I always need to use a damp cloth after they poop. Any ideas? Thanks,
Julie

Whaddaya say -- 20 litter boxes? by
arhooley
My 14-week-old kitten just doesn't get it. She has to be in either a
cage, or a very small room with litterbox, toys, and food, in order to
understand that we USE THE BOX and not the corner for pooping. Her
health is fine and there are no introduction problems with other cats
(she's loving my...

Not sure if this will get many responses in a health and behavior forum,

rid of the smell from cat spray that has been in base molding and wood
flooring for a period of time.
There's a corner in my living room that was...

New cat introduction - giving it another, better informed shot. by
Brian Link
When we tried adopting Henry, he was an aggressive stray tom whose
hormones were still kicking after being recently neutered. The
introduction went well for a few weeks, but after going too quickly
with the intro, and a major knock-down dragout with Louis (where Henry
was the aggressor) the...

Seeking experience with FIV+/FIV- multiple cat households by

We adopted Edmund 3 weeks ago. On Friday, I took him in for his
check-up and he was diagnosed as FIV+. We already have 2 cats living in
the house who are FIV-. The vet kindly offered to help me find him
another home. Did NOT suggest that FIV+/FIV- could live together.
Here are the facts:
- He will...

Blacktop or black top on cats' paws from driveway by
[email protected]
Here's something that's been bugging me for 2 years.
2 years ago my cat wandered out over black top, that cold stuff you
black top driveways with. I think it was SealMaster. You get that from
Sears.
I called a vet who said any cure would not be worth the hassle.
I called the company that said...
