Another Red Cross Rant [OT] by CatNipped
I just saw a news item about "All My Children" doing a special show about a Mardi Gras ball (the one where there was an explosion on the set while filming). Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) said they wanted to help the victims of Katrina so during the airing of the show they will have pleas for people...

STRONG SIGNS YOU NEED A VACATION FROM DOGS by Dave Gerecke
STRONG SIGNS YOU NEED A VACATION FROM DOGS 1. When your spouse's shocked voice shouts from the shop, "Honey, come quick, I've had a terrible accident!", you show up breathless with a mop and scent neutralizer. 2. You wake panicked in the middle of the night when you sense you suddenly have room...

Remarkable day for Lily & Eli by Pat
They've been together in the same room at least four times today without either one being upset. No growling, no hissing. In fact, at one point I was holding both of them in my lap and both were purring. There may yet be hope! I don't know why their enmity developed in the first place. When Billy...

May I rant again? (sorry, OT) by jmcquown
My dear, sweet dad just won't stop bugging me about my insurance license. *YES* I passed the exams (all 4 of them). NO, the state hasn't sent me my license yet. No, there's nothing I can do to get it any faster. It hasn't even been two weeks since I took the exams. The company that gives...

My Cats by Profz74
I am a new member of the group and have been reading the items. I have had two cats, Maria and Dora. Yesterday Maria died rather strangely. I didn't get up real early and was lying in bed reading when I heard a strange noise coming from the living room. I got up and Maria was lying on the...

Taming Ferals by Yowie
"Fat Freddy" wrote in message ... I feed about a dozen young feral kitties. These are true ferals, not strays. They were born outside in the brush and have never been handled by humans. I would like to bring a couple of them in and...

Have you washed your ears lately? by Bill Stock
I woke up to the pleasant sensation of a wet tongue in my ear. Sadly, it was Cleo's tongue. She felt I'd been neglecting my personal grooming. I was a little apprehensive, as she's got a bad habit of lick, lick, lick... BITE. Although she bites far less often than she did in the beginning. My...

A photo of Stranger... by Karen AKA Kajikit
He (I think it's a he, but I can't really tell) isn't exactly camera-shy... or shy at all! I feel like a catnapper for having taken him in when he's obviously somebody's pet - but what was he doing out in the alley all alone begging for attention?...

Yet another in an ocassional series of asking for job purrs... I have an interview late tomorrow. Oddly enough, it's for the job my dad is retiring from, and the fellow doing the interview (my dad's boss) is someone I've known for years. I have no idea if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but...

Preparing cats for the big move by Pat
By the end of this month I will be moved over to the new house. Probably won't get the fence completed for a while yet so meanwhile the cats will just have to stay inside. I am preparing them for it slowly. It's not hard to keep them in when it's cold, and we're finally getting some cold weather....
