TNR by formerly known as 'cat arranger'
I took two cats into a local shelter. One was a stray and the other was a friend's cat. The local cat advocates said that we could get them both neutered and that wouldn't be a problem. They came home with a large chunk cut out of their ears. The stray looks bad but the friends Siamese looking cat...

I help maintain (i.e. feed and shelter) a small colony of ferals in our backyards in Roslindale. In the past few weeks we've had a couple of unneutered cats join the regulars. My neighbor reports her property is getting sprayed. We had help in the past from a woman who was an excellent trapper...

A couple of months ago, I asked for assistance in finding a home for a six year old female Tonkinese cat that would periodically urinate in large quantities on the carpet, pillows, mattresses, etc., even with a clean cat box nearby and a clean bill of health. The damage was becoming intolerable as...

I took in an abandoned kitty approx 4 months ago. She is now 6-7 months old. I was what I thought to be a wonderful owner, purchasing several scratching posts, giving kitty the run of the house. Did NOT have her declawed, got her rabies and distemper vaccine, had her spayed. Now 6 weeks after...

Treating Your Pet At Home by [email protected]
Most pet owners have no idea how to perform CPR, or even begin to give basic medical care to their pet. But you should know these things, because in some emergencies, you can't always get to the Vet in time. http://veterinaryglb.blogspot.com/#

trying to catch stray kittens by [email protected]
Hi, I noticed last week some kittens venturing from the crawlspace under my apartment. I put out a squirrel trap with tuna for a day but didn't catch anything. In fact, I found the big white cat sniffing it but not even trying to go in (he probably wouldn't fit). I just saw the kittens...

Trying to tame a semi-feral by Shana Cooke
Hello, I'm trying to find out information on how to teach a semi-feral cat to like being picked up (or at least tolerate it). I adopted a semi-feral from the humane society about seven months ago (she is now 13 mo old), and in this time she has stopped hiding, and usually comes up to me at night...

trying to trap feral cats (and going crazy) by Sheri
Help! I'm at my wit's end. A family of 4 feral cats has been living in my parents' front yard for the last 6 months --- I'll call them Mama Cat, Daddy Cat, and Big Sister and Little Sister (their 2 female offspring). My mother feeds them every day, but we want to get them "fixed" and vaccinated for...

Tumbleweed has been re-adopted by Deborah Trujillo
I learned last night that Tumbleweed has been re-adopted. There are other cats in this house, and he is happy as a lark. It's almost as if he was born there. This was the best Christmas present I could have received.
