One sentence story by
kraut / larry stark
One sentence story
OK, so I'm going to write a sentence to start a story. Everyone
continues the story with one sentence!
The sun shone through the window as Misty, the cat, stretched and
yawned lightly.

Picture of the trusting kitty by
Mark Edwards
Here is the little girl who has started trusting me (a little bit).
Unfortunately, today seems not to be one of those days, as the camera
freaked her out, and I had to take a fuzzy, through-the-window picture.

Her first toy by
Lesley
Bonnie's never been much one for toys, wave a fether onna stick and
she 'll give it a few baps to show willing but that's about it, Sarsi
may be almost 8 years older than Bonnie but she's still the more
playful of the two, We've decided that Bonnie is far too much a
genteel lady cat to indulge in...

Dot likes memory foam by
Takayuki
About a week ago, I swapped out my regular foam mattress for one of those
memory foam mattresses that are popular nowadays.
I found that it is quite comfortable, although it has an unexpected
characteristic that it makes me heat up at night. Since the foam takes your
body's shape, it tends to...

Totally OT. Richard III by
Christina Websell
It was revealed yesterday that the bones dug up in the Social Services car
park in Leicester, my home time were definitely those of Richard III, our
most notorious king.
I worked in the building next to that site for a few years and there were
many rumours that the building was haunted and some...

OT Ping: Judith (and anyone else who cares to chime in) by
jmcquown[_2_]
The one sentence story and your comment about forgetting I'm American
sparked this memory.
John and I were at an art show a number of years ago. One morning
before the show we went to breakfast. The waitress came to the table
and said to me, "Would you like some tea?" I was startled. Tea? ...

Can cats be embarrassed? by
Christina Websell
Boyfie knows very well that the only place he is not allowed is my bedroom.
He snuck in there today and nearly jumped out of skin when I found him in
there looking around.
He rushed back down the stairs.
He *knows* that it is not allowed and I found him doing it. He was either
embarrassed or...

Remote tummy rubs by
Mark Edwards
A few minutes ago, Apache caught my eye, and flopped down for a tummy
rub. I'm across the room. She apparently has a lot of faith in how easy
it is to get a tummy rub around here.
Yes, I did go over and rub her tummy.
Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

No rest for the wicked by
Mark Edwards
So I laid down to take a nap. Little Feet decided to join me, laying his
head on my shoulder. We got comfortable, relaxed and had almost dozed
off. The phone rang. Junk phone call, so I hung up and we went back to bed.
We got comfortable, relaxed and had almost dozed off. Little Boy and...

I was given incredible trust today by
Mark Edwards
I was given incredible trust today.
There is a little, fluffy-tailed kitten that has been showing up for a
few weeks. Every time I've tried to approach her, she has hissed and run
back out of reach. If I moved in her direction, she ran away. So I
simply started telling her what a pretty girl...

The purple dot by
Cheryl[_3_]
Since the red dot died before its time I've been looking for a
replacement. I saw a PURPLE dot for sale as an ad on facebook (note to
self, never click those again!) and after almost a month and a lot of
emails to the company trying to figure out where it was, I went to get
it from the post...

Emily's successor by

Needless to say, after Emily's death, a new kitten was on the cards ;-)
So, here she is:

She's a Tortie, about 6 months old from the local humane society. She's
settling in well, and Libby obviously wants to play with her, though...

No more chicken by
---MIKE---
When I shop I usually pick up a chicken breast at the deli counter.
This has to stop. Amber has taken a liking to it. If I give her as
much as I give Tiger, she doesn't eat her supper. I have ordered some
Taurine powder to add to her canned food but I still want her to eat her
cat food. No more...

The Little Guard Cat by
jmcquown[_2_]
I was driving off the island this afternoon when I saw a gorgeous
long-haired black & white tuxedo cat sunning itself next to the guard
house. Naturally I had to stop! I rolled down the window and the cat
got up and hid behind a bush.
The guard said, "Help you, ma'am?" "Who is the gorgeous...

Spicey wings by
Takayuki
Today, Spicey hopped onto my lap for the first time since I'd gotten her.
She wanted a bite, or two or three, of the spicy wings I had on my plate.
She licked and nibbled at my dinner with an eager expression on her little
mottled face.
In yet another first, I decided that this would be an...

Today is Duffy's 10th furdoption day by
MaryL[_2_]
Today is Duffy’s 10th furdoption day. Based on estimates from three
different vets when he was adopted, he is probably 13 to 15 years old now.
Since I did not know his actual date of birth, I arbitrarily set his
birthday to be the same as his adoption day.
Duffy is the most wonderful,...
