Vet can't solve alergy problem, any advice? by McQualude
My cat started scratching until he made sores at our previous residence and the vet said it was fleas. We never saw evidence of fleas but we flea bombed, the cat got a depo shot and flea medicine and everything was fine for a few months. We moved. The scratching came back, the vet found no evidence...

Can an Old Healthy Cat Travel Successfully Internationally? by tioga 0630
I may have to put my housecat on an airplane. This cat was relocated twice successfully in her youth, but only locally, within a few miles. She is now at least ten years old and perhaps older (she was either young or a very skinny stray when we found her). I'd almost rather die than face this...

How do you know if your cat has arthritis / what treatment(s)? by Joe
I suspected that our 11 year old male cat has arthritis or some other manner of joint problem (an x-ray performed a few months ago based on nothing more than my hunch came back with my our vet saying it looks like he might have some indication in one of his hips). I'm not sure if the x-ray showed...

cat with pancreas problems by bob
I have a 13 yr old male cat. A blood test on him (1st time the cat had a blood test) tells that an enzyme in his blood is very high due to the pancreas not working properly, possibly pancreatic cancer. The normal level for this enzyme is 300-1100, his level has varied during his 3 blood tests from...

What to do with young family? by Gail
You should catch the kittens as soon as possible. You can use a have a heart trap to catch them. Place them in a room by themselves (even a small room will do) with litter box, food, water, and a bed. It will not take long to socialize them and find them homes. Place have the mother spayed ASAP....

Stool softening by Jerold Pearson
I've put in a call to my vet, but thought I'd try to get some thoughts here in the meantime. Any suggestions on what I could give my 8 year old male neutered cat to help soften his stool? I don't want to give him pumpkin or a food with more fiber, because added fiber can sometimes help stool pass...

Maternal instinct by Marion
Hi, This seems to be the next chapter in the story of the foster cat, Victoria, whose litter was terminated during a spay operation. We also had a family of 4 kittens and mother in the dining room. Gradually, after she returned from the vet on Tuesday night, Victoria started to settle down. You're...

And I thought my cat was fat... by Rona Yuthasastrakosol
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4654653/?GT1=3256 It may seem that I am making light of this, but I really don't think it's very funny. My cat *is* slightly overweight but not so much that it affects her health, and I do watch her intake very carefully (she's still on a diet--it's been a very slow...

Cats in the bathroom.. by RobZip
Just tossing this out for observation and comment. I have 2 cats in my household, a 4 year old spayed female and a 9 month old female due for neutering soon. Both are quite contented, well adjusted to each other and the household in general. Both have a normal interest in dominating the attention...

Hi, Until 2 months ago, I had 2 wonderful older cats. The 15 year old male was finally put down when his cancer was too much for both of us. My 17 year old spayed female cat, who has been left behind, now howls deep gutteral meows on and off all day and night. I thought after a few months it...

Finding apartments that take 4 cats? by Karen
Well, I just kept calling and asking. I offered higher deposit for "with claws". I think you have better luck if you rent a house apartment rather than a complex apartment. I wouldn't give up just when told over phone. Talk to an actual manager, because they can be much more ready to deal. Just...
