How old before micro-chipping? by Irulan
I think I will get Lily microchipped. She is 4-5 months old now. Is that old enough? I'm too lazy to call my vet, heh. Lily's mama Lydia -- Irulan from the stars we come to the stars we return from now until the end of time

Purrs for Pan, Please by Shiral
Hi All, Last Thursday, I took Panther to the vet to get his blood checked to make sure he's getting the right amount of medication. This morning, I talked to Pan's vet who told me Pan's thyroid was the highest it's ever been. (He has a thyroid tumor that we're controlling through medication.) The...

Sherry, d-pet? by Cheryl
I accidently marked the group "caught up" before I could reply. Have you put any more thought into adopting that gorgeous GS mix? I would love to have a dog. Not a loud yippy one, but I love the big, gentle dogs like the one you're eyeing is. :) How do you think Bootsie would react? -- Cheryl

Proposed Solution by CharIie Wilkes
There is a point in "The Godfather" by M. Puzo where one of the characters says, "I tried to live within the system, but the system failed me. Now, for justice, I must go to Don Corleone." That is what has happened here. I believe this can be avoided, in the future, if the participants in these...

Rita's edge is here by Pat
We've got rain. Not much so far but it's going to continue through the night and into tomorrow, according to the radar map on CNN. Thank God, it will cool us off a bit, finally. I was so glad to hear that it did a lot less damage than was anticipated down south.

The Levees Failed Again by CatNipped
It's the ninth ward levees and it's going to flood St. Bernard again. They couldn't handle the rains from Rita. Purrs and purr-ayers for the people there are desperately needed, folks. Hugs, CatNipped

A Little Disaster Humor by CatNipped
Forgive the graveyard humor.... DH is walking around with the camcorder taking "before" pictures of the house to document it in case we have to show insurance adjusters later. I told him that after 3+ weeks of sheltering 4 families here (messy adults, children, and pets) we could probably send in...

There Goes Rhymin' Simon (hiding cat) by Norm
I picked up the 9yo Siamese male yesterday. It was not a good adventure getting home but I'll leave the story for later. Simon will purr if he's cornered but otherwise he's reluctant to be seen. His owner died 3weeks ago and he's been in a cage at the vets until yesterday. The first mistake I...

Willow update... by M Elizabeth
She had her endoscopy yesterday. Willow recovered well and was begging for food, so I obliged. The steroid really didn't seem to be helping her, so she is off that for right now and is taking Reglan for nausea/vomiting...which didn't work last night, because the poor thing puked. Right now it is...
