Purrs needed for Sasha by meow
Sasha is at the vets right now for testing. Her eating habits have been deteriorating for the past couple days. Last night she pretty much refused canned food but has been drinking a lot of water. She is over 5 years old so vet is testing for diabetes, kidney failure and tumors. He said he feels...

Pus or something else? by Catnipped
OK, this may be a strange question, but I've never had a male cat before, I've always had females. The little stray I found just used the litter box to urinate and then defecate (no straining, no pain, urine looked clear). First, my whole office is *really* stinky from the box - a sour smell. ...

pushing liquids/struvite crystals by Jean B.
As you know, Mingy was just hospitalized because he had a lot of struvite crystals. Now that he is home, I am trying to get him to drink, but most of my usual tactics and even the diluted tuna water are failing. He did just lick the liquid off of can of Science Diet Savory Cuts (chicken), but...

Put Amoxil Drops on food? by Kirk Is
So, the vet prescribed amoxil for the kitty. Who really doesn't enjoy the eyedropper-in-the-mouth treatment. Is there any medical reson not to just apply the medicine to her food? I can't imagine her not eating it... -- QUOTEBLOG: http://kisrael.com SKEPTIC MORTALITY:...

Put tapeworm medicine in food? by John Doe
I have a stray female cat that is terrified at the idea of being handled. So I don't handle her (and mostly avoid eye contact). The problem is she needs tapeworm medicine. Can ordinary tapeworm pills be crushed and included in her wet food? Thank you. By the way. Is it possible such a cat could...

Putting an "inside" car outside by 123456789
I have 3 cats. One of them is a 28 pound cat that I found when he was just a few weeks old. That was in August 2000. Recently, he has started peeing and pooping in places other than the litter box. The vet says there is nothing medically wrong with him. My wife always hated the cat and was...

Hi all. For a while now I've posted occasionally about my cat Spam, who's about 15 years old now, and has CRF, cardiomyopathy, and was born with cerebellar hypoplasia. Spam hasn't been able to walk very far for a few years now, he doesn't play and pretty much all he has done is sit in his...

Pyrantel Pamoate dosage by Mikey
How much (mg) of Pyrantel Pamoate is an 8 pound cat supposed to receive? I read that 2.5 - 5 mg per pound is usually given. But the Drontal tablets are something like 72 mg for an 8 pound cat which is like 9 mg per pound.
