Hi. Can someone recommend a good, basic reference book on cat health? One for looking up health questions as they arise. Thanks, Maxine -- mgusenet+this year at pcg dot net

another Barb by barb
Here we go again. I've posted my troubles with my own cats and if other people post their troubles using my name (Barb) it's going to look like I have double the trouble that I do. I know. Someone is going to post "Get a life." Who will be the first? Barb Of course I don't look busy, I did it...

Question marks around my cat Benny by [email protected]
Hello all, I used to post in this group a few years ago, back when my four year-old cats Benny and Dewey were babies. I don't recognize anyone, but I thought I'd drop in to tell my story about Benny. My husband and I started to notice that Benny was losing weight back in October, but it didn't...

Kitten with Rabies by [email protected]
Hello. I e-mailed someone who suggested I join this group to get my question answered. I will give as many details as possible and would greatly appreciate any advice. We took in a kitten when it was about eight weeks old. Supposedly, the mother was healthy and had her shots etc. We brought...

AD: Cat Surgery Fund auctions by bluemaxx
Well, Thanksgiving was not thankful this year. Husband was feeding our resident feral at 2:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning (he's a second-shifter) and of course, not watching for our sneaky Tucker-boi. He escaped and somehow managed to get hit by a car... so, $2,800+more to come later, I am...

steps for re-homing a cat by Maxine G
Hi. We recently had a disastrous experience with adopting 2 cats. They peed on the bed and sofa and we eventually had to send them back to their former owner. It was heartbreaking. We're about to try again with 2 different cats, and would like some advice on the best strategies for "re-homing"...

Kitten biting her nails... by sax_playa86
Alright, so my baby girl, Marziale, has this addiction to chewing on her nails. She has been into the vet, up to date on her shots, and I also took her in a couple extra times because she was left in a plastic bag on the side of the road, which is how I ended up getting her (I know, poor baby, but...

Citrus Spray? by [email protected]
Well I've been trying to keep Clyde away from the Christmas tree but he just won't leave it alone. The orange peels worked for about a day but sometimes even when I put new ones there he goes right passed them if he's running. So I thought of maybe getting a citrus spray to spray around the tree to...

Public Apology by cybercat
I should not have called Barry a "knuckle-dragging piece of ****" just because he let Jupiter get pregnant. Barry is a brilliant man, a creative genius, and a loving, caring person. Somewhere in there. So I apologize.

Hi, New and HAD a question. by MoonDancer85
Hello everyone, I am new to the board and I originally was hoping I could get some help with a problem but after seeing how people talk to eachother on here it makes me want to turn tail and run rather than ask for help. The way people treat eachother is SCARY. Makes a newcomer looking for help...

Luna and her dental :) by Kitkat
Well, it has been a few weeks since my Luna got sick. She recovered well from a course of antibiotics and I scheduled her dental for yesterday. Brought her in at 8am and around 10:30 am the vet called and said "well, she is in her cage, hissing at me. It seems she is once again ready to voice...

perfume a cat would love by furfin
I'm reading an interesting book about perfumes and looking for a new scent for myself. Like the catgirl I am, I tell the perfume salepeople that I, my cats, and my man all have to like it. I've brought home samples sprayed on cardboard but the cats back away from them or sniff them dubiously. I...

Sick cat losing weight - any suggestions. by [email protected]
Hi all, Would some of you be kind enough to give me some advice about my cat Max ? He has chronic Renal Failure and recently a tumor was found on his leg. He limps now, eats like a horse and otherwise seems OK. We feed him Hill's KD at our vet's recommendation and he eats it without too much fuss....
