Tom cat question by
CatNipped[_2_]
Does an adult tom cat's pee lose that strong odor once they're neutered?
The vet said Hunter is a year or a little over a year (he just started
getting "jowly"). Since he's had testosterone in his system his pee really
stinks (but thankfully he figured out how to use the litter box and isn't...

Icarus Is Home by
Cat Protector
Icarus is now home and recovering. Thanks to everyone who sent or expressed
their well wishes. He's really happy to be home. This morning I fed him and
gave him his meds and right now he's curled up on the couch sleeping.

Icarus Recovering by
Cat Protector
I thought I'd give everyone an update. I've been checking on Icarus every
day and not had too much opportunity to visit him because I didn't want to
interfere too much with the vet. Before I left the vet on Sunday, I left my
jacket with him so he had my scent and hopefully make him more...

Daisy, bald spots? by
cshenk
I am not sure if this is just her shedding behavior but she's developing
some near bald spots. The skin under looks pink and healthy. One seems to
have been the flea medicine given the day we took her home.
I've never experienced this before. She has a vet appointment in a little
less than 2...

doubt with recently born kittens by
[email protected]
I have a doubt. Recently I went down to our summer apartment in the
south of Spain and discovered that a cat had given birth to four
kittens on the roof terrace. Not being very knowledgeable about the
world of cats, I asked one of my neighbours about whether they were
ok. He informed me that they...

A house full of them by
thespokesman
Yes, we have a house full and they all have unique personalities.
FizzBomb is one of my favorites. My Sugar owns her own racing stable
and it seems to be good to have cats around the horses. Visit us at

Update and Name Change by
CatNipped[_2_]
Good news first - he tested negative for FIV and FeLV, so he's definitely
now an indoor only pampered cat.
Second, since we're definitely going to keep him (as if that was ever in
doubt), I decided "Garvin" just wouldn't do - too undignified. So we're
going to call him "Hunter" (kinda goes...

Fat Jack by

If you are free feeding, STOP. Feed him canned food twice a day. No
treats.

Fat Jack by
[email protected]
I'm curious if any of you have ever had an overweight kitten? I've
had a LOT of cats and have never had a fat baby until now. Jack is
10months old. He gets plenty of exercise with his sister (Jessica the
toe sucker), doesn't seem to spend any more time at the food bowl than
the rest of the cats,...

New Puppy. Need Help. Separation anxiety. by
MS
We don't want the dog to learn that she'll get her way by barking,
scratching, and banging on the door. She needs to learn to sit
patiently. I don't think I'm expecting a lot. My childhood dog just
played outside as long as we left her out. We have a plethora of toys
for our dog, both inside...

22 Y.O. Siamese Cat Losing Balance by
Richard[_2_]
My cat is very old, maybe even 23. She still eats and drinks ok, but
takes longer to drink water.
The problem has been going on for a few months. And it is really bad
now. She can't seem to walk straight and lisps over to the side. Even
when she attempts to clean her legs, she will sometimes...

Menu Foods announces settlement by
MaryL
Menu Foods Income Fund announced it has agreed to settle lawsuits with pet
owners. I'm skeptical of the process, and this can never make up for the
loss of all the cats and dogs that were sickened or died, but I'm glad to
see that there will be at least *some* level of accountability.

urinary blockage by
Wendy
Is it necessary to use prescription wet food for a cat who's blocked or will
any quality wet food do as well?
The cat has been to the vet, been unblocked and sent home on antibiotics and
anti-spasmodics.
