Allergic skin reaction? by Buddy
You should call your vet tonight - surely they have someone on call. I don't' know anything about the meds, but the symptoms are not good. I wouldn't give him any more meds or wheat bran until you talk to the vet.

cat regurgitation by [email protected]
I have two cats, both girls. One of them regurgitates her food once in a while. The other one then goes and eats it. I am trying to determine if one cat is regurgitating the food to make it soft for the other one to eat, or what else might explain this behavior. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

Shots or No Shots by Buddy
I will be taking my 4 year old for his annual checkup next month and am wondering what the concensus is on what shots an indoor, only kitty really needs? Also, opinions on the injectable vacines and the nasal vacines. He received a nasal vacine last year and acquired a sinus infection afterwards...

compounding pharmacy for cat medication? by Elizabeth Blake
Harriet, one of the cats at work, is on Propulsid 2x a day. The vet's office charges $1 per capsule. I was looking for an online veterinary compounding pharmacy where I might be able to get it cheaper. I did a quick search but everything I looked at catered to vets, not individual...

My 7.5 year old cat has just been diagnosed with diabetes. Per my discussion with his vet, I will likely start on him on some potassium today and then decide on insulin injections and routine blood sugar testing to ultimately get the insulin dosage right. Can people hear please share your...

Help with cat meowing every morning? by [email protected]
I need help. We have two cats, Trinity and Mr. Anderson. One of them meows every morning, wanting to get into the bathroom (which is next to our bed). The problem is, Trinity likes to play with water in the sink, so she is meowing to get in the bathroom to play. She doesn't stop meowing if we...

Grieving Kitties 2 by Callie & Coie's Dad
First, I want to thank everyone for their kind words of sympathy. They were much appreciated. My step-daughter, Sylvia, is also a cat person and is the one who persuaded my wife and I to adopt. She and my step-son and his wife came to help me with the things that you need help with at such a...

HELP - Cat won't eat by whooperdooper
My eldest cat, has had real problems with her mouth and teeth for quite a while now. She is currently taking Interferon but will not eat. I have tried everything even getting wet food to the consistency of baby food and hand feeding her, but she will not eat unless forced, which I hate to do. She...

Open Cans by NanCe via CatKB.com
Dear Sheldon, Whether you keep it in the original can or another container is a matter of taste. Generally, it should not impart a different taste to the tuna. The safety issue is only relevant to how clean the new container is. Obviously, the intent should be to consume the tuna once...

Tiger - bad news by Elizabeth Blake
Back in December I took Tiger to the vet because she was urinating on everything a lot. She's had a problem with that pretty much most of her life, but it got out of control. Her blood work in December showed that she was just starting to have problems with her kidneys. One of her numbers were...

licking bricks by Prissykitty73
I have an 11 month old male cat named Jack. Lately he has been licking the bricks around the fireplace, carpet and he has been eating the wood chips we use to help start the fireplace. Is this a indication that his diet is lacking something? Is it going to hurt him if I let him do this??

Hi - does anybody know where I can buy a net to go over the bassinet and crib so that the kitties can't jump in with a new baby? I prefer not to have to lock them out of the bedroom but I want to be able to sleep myself and not worry that they are making themselves at home in the bassinet with a...
