My cats and dogs are getting their food backwards... by Karen M.
My dog keeps trying to eat my cats' food and my cats keep trying to eat my dog's food! Either someone switched the bags on me, or there's some animal freaky Friday going on here! I'm used to my dog doing this, but I thought the cats had better sense! LOL!! :) Karen

Update on Momcat/missing kittens by Ginger-lyn Summer
In case anyone remembers me posting awhile ago about a neighbor being evicted and dumping her cat and possibly kittens (that I could not find), here's an update. Momcat got into a no-kill shelter quickly, which was very lucky. I tried finding any kittens for over a week with no success. But...

Liz (was: Unexplained weight loss in 8.5 yr old male cat) by Lynn
Good morning, I am the original poster regarding my cat. I'm not sure I quite follow the issue with "adhesions" and how this could be related to my cat. Where would the "adhesions" come from? He is strictly an indoor cat with no prior medical history. Could you please explain further? ...

Road Trip and Sub-Q by Mary
(Question: Is $18.58 an average or reasonable price for sub-q?) Kami didn't fight it, but I can still imagine what it would be like at home. Seems easy enough if she's cooperative and I will pick up supplies closer to the date and do one or two practices before hitting the road. If your cat...

Unexplained weight loss in 8.5 yr old male cat by Lynn
I've noticed lately that my 8.5 yr old male cat has lost weight so I decided to have him checked out. Upon weighing him at the vets office, it was discovered that he had lost 3 lbs. since his last exam in late June of this year. He was 11 lbs. in June; he is now 8 lbs. I should also say that during...

Premier Pet Insurance by Cthrd3
Does anybody know if Premier Pet Insurance is still around? I want to get insurance for my 4 cats and it appears that this is a good plan/ I tried calling and I can't get through. I tried getting a quote from their website and it doesn't work. I feel that VPI has too many restrictions that's why...

Tesco own Cat Food by icedog
I am in UK and seem to have our next-door neighbour's ginger female (Chloe) most of the time as they have 3 rugrats including a new one so chuck her out. They still feed her regularly but when given some extra Tesco catfood she completely ignores it. Does anyone else have this problem? Frankly...

Went to a movie this evening. by guynoir
Saw "The Station Agent". For two solid hours I did not think about THE WORMS CRAWLING OUT OF MY CAT'S ASSHOLE!. EWW! EWW! EWW! ICK! YUCK! UGH! I can't believe how horrible and repulsive it is! Since finding that first innocuous little "sesame seed", I've watched as disgusting parasites have...

My kittens changing bottom lip. by Hurrikane
Hi all ! This may sound like a really weird question, but here goes .......... Zee B, my 3 month old kitten seems to have a strange bottom lip. Its hard to explain, but it changes colour to pink. It started at the left side & it looked swollen, so I asked the vet when he went for his second...

My cat pukes a lot by A.J. Rivett
My 15 year old cat, Kato, has always vomited frequently. Sometimes there is fur involved but often not. Her general health is very good. She had surgery at age 3 for a bladder stone and has been fine since but the weak stomach has been ongoing for many years. Sometimes it seems to be unrelated...

Twitchy Shuna by Dogbert Dilbert
Dear All, My cat (Shuna, 8 yrs, female moggy) has a strange twitchy head which concerns me. Her head only occassionally does the shakes, but will very often shake when she's otherwise completely relaxed (ie. sitting on me), and she sometimes seems almost in a trance-like state. Her head doesn't...

Human health risks w/ cat pooping in crawl space? by Hank
My house sits atop 3 foot piers making a crawl space the size of the entire house's floor plan - 1200 sq ft. For a time I allowed him down there (thru a special cat door) so he could have fun playing in the dirt and catching small lizards and gecco's. (He's an indoor cat) He took to preferring...

Blood in female kittens urine, HELP! by ForewarnedMetal
Hello friends, I'm having a problem with a female kitten roughly 12 weeks old. She has been hand fed from a bottle KMR since the very day she was born as she was abandoned by her mother with the semi-dry placenta still attached. She was weaned from the bottle late at around 8 weeks old and moved...

Cat won't eat by A.J. Rivett
My 15 year old female cat Kato won't eat. I'll start to pump food into her with a syringe but it doesn't look good. Vet trips traumatize her to no end so I'm going to do what I can at home until she starts to lose weight. She's been steadily eating a little less and being a little less active...

Are cats susceptible to WNV? by MacCandace
West Nile Virus, that is. I've pretty much ignored all info on WNV because I live in Phoenix, where you don't see many mosquitos and because WNV didn't even hit AZ until this year. Now the other day, I heard on the news that one of the thick-billed parrots (endangered, native species) at the...

Swheatscoop vs WBCL or other Natural litters... by Hank
I've read the archives, not sure what the concensus is. My cat pees against the side of the box every time and I have to scrape the clump residue from the side (not fun). I would like to know opinions of natural biodegradable clumping litter, with notes about how they act when stuck to sides...

I recently took in a homeless cat that someone dumped near my home. He's relatively young, probably less then 2 years Im told. I had him fixed and checked out by a local vet. He's in good health. My problem is, when he uses the litter box, which he does several times a day, it stenches up my whole...

I've have two cats who are are brothers, (Max and Clyde) for the last two years. Recently Max ran away. During this time Clyde cried and whined alot and became extremely close to me. Finally after two weeks of searching I found Max. I would have thought that when I brought both brothers back...
