This text is from Alison and was posted in 2002 to the Usenet If there is an older version let me know.. RatFinx's hoomin requests permission to share.... Its been a long time since I posted to this group, but I lurk from time to time. I would like to post a story that was dictated to me...

My neighbours by Christina Websell
They are still dreadful. When they reached over the fence to cut my tree down (illegal) they put the branches over the back fence. As I refused them permission to cut any tree down on the boundary they are sweeping up leaves from their "never let a leaf touch my perfect block paving" and...

Update on Persia by jmcquown[_2_]
Persia is doing very well. She's eating her prescription kibble and gets a little bit of canned Friskies every day as a treat. I've got an appointment for her to be checked again in January. She's eating, drinking, pooping and peeing normally. She seems happy. We play a lot. She snuggles...

Da 'nip! by Mark Edwards
I stopped at PetSmart to pick up some more cat food, and thought I'd get some catnip while I was there. I bought a container of the dried, and a small pot of live catnip. I put the bag on my desk. Apache and Little Boy start trying to climb on the desk. I put the bag in my underwear drawer....

Anyone know what's happened to by jmcquown[_2_]
Stormee (Lee) and (much longer) Theresa from NYC? It's been a long time since I saw a post from either of them. I know Lee was dealing with lots of stuff, but Theresa stopped posting years ago. I was thinking about her the other night. Jill

I got a REAL purr! by Mark Edwards
I was lying down on the bed, and Apache was nearby. I turned toward her, gave her a hug, a tummy rub and a kiss on the head, and she gave me a nice rumbly purr that I could actually hear! Hugs and Purrs, Mark

Cleaning for the fleas by dgk
I'm not sure what the flea situation is. Scooter still seems immune, Nipsy's flea-combing comes out clean, but I still find some flea dirt on Marlo though much less than before. So yesterday was all about cleaning. Naturally the flea outbreak came when we were separating all the sheets. Winter...

King prawns from Thailand OT by Christina Websell
I will never eat them again. I saw a Tv program. There they are all in their tanks, seeming happy, mating. Swimming. Next day the females are in another tank on the bottom, not moving. The journalist asked what was the matter with them. The person there refused to answer. It turned out that...

Kitty Kisses in the Wee Hours by jmcquown[_2_]
I was sound asleep. But not so soundly I didn't hear the purring by my ear. I felt little whiskers tickling my cheek. Then, a little sandpaper tongue kissed my cheek. Once... twice. It was nowhere near "breakfast time". Persia just wanted to give me a little kiss :) Jill

Thank you all for the cards! by jmcquown[_2_]
I've been feeling decidedly un-holiday like this year. I didn't even hang a wreath on the door. But getting cards from you, my friends, makes me smile! Thank you. Bless you, your families, all of your cats and other furry friends :) Jill & Persia

Nurse Holly by MaryL[_2_]
I'm typing very slowly and mostly one-handed because I fell head-first off a step ladder land landed on my face with my right hand bent under me. It's a low step ladder and I was on the lowest rung, but the hand rail (bar?) is low. When I put both hands on the bar, I lost my balance and went...

vacuuming the cat by ann791
Cinnamon is not afraid of the vacuum and will sit there when I vacuum right up to her. I got the idea to try the soft brush attachment on her. As she is getting older she is grooming herself less and has a lot of loose fur. She let me use it on her. She had a look on her face like what the h**l...

Hope! by Mark Edwards
Hope! Tonight I saw not only Miss Emily and Butterscotch, but also Paleface and Othercat, although Othercat was still across the parking lot. So I'm beginning to think that Orville has found an indoor home. Hugs and Purrs, Mark

Butterscotch is cold tonight by Mark Edwards
It is MUCH colder outside than usual, and Butterscotch was looking in the window. I opened the door and brought him (and Miss Emily) inside. Butterscotch has never been inside our apartment, and has usually resisted when I have tried to bring him in. But he appears willing to suffer through it...
