Please be understanding about this by
Granby
Several have emailed me about wanting to send Lee "things: from Amazon and
overstock dot com. They will be living in a hotel for quite sometime and
have no place to store stuff.
Money would be better and you guys have heard Lee talk enough that you know
she will get the best bang for the buck....

Update on my brother #5 (and somewhat OT) by
jmcquown
I was there for three days and nights. Came home on Friday. Persia was
happy to have me back full time :)
Yesterday morning he called, he needs his dressing changed. I drive 25
miles to his house and our friend of 35 years is sitting there with him
watching television. What, you couldn't ask...

Oscar's diagnosis by
Monique Y. Mudama
Oscar has small cell lymphoma.
That's about all I know right now.
The emergency vet says it's very treatable with steroids and chemo, and
she could live a couple of years.
My therapist says I need to take a hard look at Oscar's quality of
life and whether it makes sense to put her through...

She's home!!! by
Marina
Dag nab her little britches, Miranda is home!
I was feeling really hopeless last night and cried myself to sleep.
Around midnight, a little paw came pawing at the covers for me to lift
them and let the cat in. Expecting to feel Caliban, I stroked the little
body that slipped in, and instead of...

Oh Baby, It's Cold Outside (and in) and a rant by
tanadashoes
We experienced temps in the 30s F here in North Carolina last week. This
was very uncomfortable for us all as the heater is based under the house and
none of us were able to go under to make sure the pilot light was on. So we
got cold. I got up in the middle of the night to shiver my way to...

OT - A Bit Worried by
CatNipped[_2_]
I know there's no advice any of you can give on a medical issue, but I hope
you don't mind if I "talk" about it a bit. Between my illness / injury /
pain meds I have been steadily losing weight - and either unable to eat of
just not absorbing the calories I eat.
A year ago I was up to almost...

In the heat of the night by
Exocat
Sweltering (for England) night last night at 21 degrees C, 69 F.
Somehow I thought my three masters might scatter to cooler climes. No
such luck :-(
Bandit maintained his usual vigil lodged against my feet.
Pericles kept station in his customary place beside my stomach.
Snowball for some obscure...

[OT][Geek] Transit of Venus by
Yowie
Just reminding the geeks out there that the transit of Venus is tomorrow
(the 8th of June)
No-one alive has seen one, because the last one happened in 1882!
Its how Australia got discovered by Captain Cook in 1770 - he was trying to
calculate the distance between teh earth and the sun by timing...

Can somebody please ... by
dirtylitterboxofferingstospammers
.... dangle *him* in the jaws of a croc... *please*...
The way some celebrities use their kids as props in their act makes me want to
puke. A stunt too far methinks... I never did like Irwin, and now I know why!
Cheers, helen s

So, I went to see the kittens in person today, and did bring a camera and
did remember to charge the batteries, so here are even more kitten pictures.
And yes, the big scary hoomin who is about to eat one of the kittens is
yours truly. Go...

Purrs for Nathan please? by
dirtylitterboxofferingstospammers
Tomorrow he starts his *big* examinations... between then and July is the
biggest test of his young life - his GCSE examinations. This decides what he
can study to age 18 and then on into university.
Tomorrow he has his German oral examination.
Any purrs of any language which can be spared, will...

purrs of the hoomin variety please by
Sherry
We need purrs. My daughter called last night and she had fainted at work, this
is the second time in about 2 months. So this time they found an abnormal EKG
so they admitted her. She normally has an inverted T-wave just like I do, which
is usually not a big deal, except this time it was different....

BONK BONK . . . Oh, did I wake you? by
Kreisleriana
Apropos of all the discussion of wake-up techniques . . . how about 3
AM piano-playing? Actually, I think he finds this so entertaining in
itself, that he's just doing it for his own amusement. Waking me up
is just a delightful bonus. :P

Frog by
David Stevenson
Now tell me, all you ladies out there. If a frog jumped over your
foot at 3.15 am, what would you do?
How about
1] scream, and
2] wake your husband to deal with the frog?
Yes, seems right to me too.

Losing Two Cats in a Short Time? I Hope Not. by
Arthur Shapiro
In September I lost my Manx kitty Banana Simian to a virulent form of cancer.
Folks here were quite supportive.
My big orange tabby Moe Lester has had a really high breathing rate for some
time - a constant 100 or 110, even when sleeping, and I finally ran him in to
have the vet take a look. They...
