Enough work and cats for three people by
Pat[_4_]
But there's just the two of us and we've been working our butts off since
early February to clean, organize and beautify this house and the land on
which it sits, and get a garden started. Basically we're at it from dawn to
dusk every day... I'm often so exhausted after supper that I can barely...

Raisin Brings in a Garden Snake by
jmcquown[_2_]
My LLL came home the other day only to find a small garden snake in his
living room, with Raisin in attendance. The snake wasn't dead but it wasn't
really moving around, either. I think it was (to use that old U.S.
expression) "playing possum". After all, if you had a huge whiskered
creature...

Mooch's chair by
Bobcat[_2_]
It's getting cold here in Canada now, especially at nights. That's why
Mooch our resident stray's favourite sleeping spot is his veranda
chair we've rigged with blankets and a heating pad. Here's a photo of
Mooch in it I took this morning, after he'd finished a big breakfast
and jumped back into...

Hey, Give me some! by
CatNipped[_4_]
I was eating a bowl of cereal this morning and Archer was laying next to me
with his head on my leg. He was wai-ting, waaai-ting, waaaaaai-ting. He
finally got tired of waiting and batted my arm, HARD! (no claws) As if to
say, hey, that's enough, leave me some!!! ; Then the ingrate took...

Such a good brofur by
Mark Edwards
Today I was fixing a turkey sandwich. Little Feet came into the kitchen
with me, and looked around. Just me and Little Feet, alone in the kitchen.
As I opened the turkey box, Little Feet ran into the living room. He came
back with Little Boy.
Again, Little Feet looked around, then ran into the...

The Voyage Of The Dawn Mouser... by
MatSav[_2_]
Is Cap'n Pinecone, Esq. is looking for crew again?
Will there shortly be some more entries in the ship's Log? Given
the title of this message, can we expect to see Aslan of Narnia
on board? :-)

A little cheer: Louie the toddler by
Caroline S.
Louie is now about 9 months old, and weighs in at almost 10 pounds.
He is becoming more toddler-like with time. He still loves his
duckie, carrying it around with him all over the house. It gets
deposited on my or DH's paper piles regularly. Louie is just as
inclined to pick up any small kid toy...

Tap tap tappin' on Mama's Nose by
jmcquown[_2_]
(It should be an Eric Clapton song.) Persia has decided to start tapping me
on the nose again. Early two nights ago I didn't go to bed 1AM. I just
wasn't sleepy. When I did go to bed I was tossing and turning. I finally
fell asleep About 5:00AM. Then suddenly I felt this soft little paw...

How dare you keep me out? by
Ginger-lyn
That's what they're thinking, I'm sure.
I'm not letting them into my room, and it's driving them crazy.
Especially Brando, who sits outside in the hall and meows pitifully,
until I come out and hug him and pet him and say "Brando! My bestest,
sweetest big boy!". I miss them, too.
But there's...

Proper Supervision. by
tanadashoes
I had Mike plant a hydrangea and some dahlias today before the rains came
back. I also asked him to go around the yard and see what had to be chopped
out from drought death and do the evil deed. Strange news, a bunch of
plants we thought were dead were alive and growing, including a hydrangea...

Did anyhone besides me miss this? by
Granby
Sorry for being dense but, I did not see any post like this. Who wrote
it, I don't know who belongs to an Alan. Even without knowing that I send
prayers for your comfort and strength.
In the thread "I thought I was dying", Kilikini mentioned that her tumor had
come back after she went...

Power Struggle by
CatNipped[_2_]
There is an uneasy truce at my home at the moment, the balance of power is
subtly shifting. Archer is making his play at being alpha cat.
When Da Boyz were still kittens, they were both lowest on the totem pole -
Ozzy the lowest only because of his pacifist nature (he's a *BIG* boy, all...

Pan--Live and Unbandaged! by
Melissa Houle
Yes, the Bandages came off today! Hopefully no more trips to the vet for a
good long time! Pan is still not putting his full weight on the leg, but
I'm not worried, as Dr. McKenzie said to expect this for a week or two,
until he gets limbered up, again. The leg looks rather pitifully thin,...

thoughts on netiquette by

Punish only the bad posts - don't punish the poster.
When a group starts to shun a poster across the board, rejecting even
their good posts, then it is no longer a decent, well-functioning
social group. What it becomes instead is a cult of personality, where
certain people become demonized, even...
