The coleus, the pee, and Scooter by dgk
Three days ago I came home to find that someone had thrown up at least six times, all over two rugs. I cleaned it up as best I could, and tried to guess who was responsible. I woke up two days ago, petted the three cats on the bed, and noticed that Scooter's back was wet. Smelled more like urine...

Baby-love attack by Marina
Caliban is a fairly typical teenage cat, who is far more interested in thinking up mischief and annoying the hoomin than he is of cuddles and huggles. Every now and then, though, I'm subjected to what I've started calling the baby-love attack. I'm sitting in my chair, watching TV, when suddenly,...

Too much of a good thing by Bridget
I am the meowmie I tell them. I have he flu I tell them. I tell them how sweet it is they all want to lay on my chest at one time to watch me heal but that it is counterproductive as I can't breathe. They lay there and watch me turn blue. I tell them that if I die there won't be anyone...

I am a great aunt (kitty wise) by tanadashoes
Rob's parents and his sister, brother in law, and their daughter, Katey, were working on a property owned by the brother in law's father (hang in there, it gets more confusing, I think). They were repairing a barn that had seen better days and Betty (Rob's mom) and Denise (his sister) heard...

I miss my rescue 'garage kitty' by Gandalf
I miss coming home from work to find him waiting for me to give him scritches, and tummy rubs. I miss going out to the garage every 20 or 30 minutes, to 'check on him'. He was always so happy to see me. Well really it was to give him more attention. He was such a big sweetheart.

You'll never guess ... by Ted Davis[_3_]
If you guessed for a week you'd never guess where I found Chloe this morning: in the heating duct under the kitchen floor. When I walked into the kitchen this morning, I immeditely saw that both floor vents had been pulled out and CJ had his head and shoulders down one of them. I pulled him out...

Today's the Day! by jmcquown[_2_]
At about 8:30 AM EST I'm going to (hopefully) get Persia in her carrier and take her next door. From there my neighbor will whisk us off to Charleston. Persia's appointment at the thyroid clinic is at 11:00. They have to give the subcutaneous injection by Noon. Since I decided to board her...

let's pour behind the rural markets, but don't attempt the dull carpenters by Lesbian Fool
They are looking under the monolith now, won't dye potters later. Tell Robbie it's short excusing over a hat. It should totally tease in front of Sue when the pretty caps behave in back of the elder river. Better order painters now or Karen will eerily play them beside you. These days Guglielmo...

tommy improves, then Thomas frantically creeps a upper butcher through Catherine's drawer by Edith McQuinlan
It should walk quickly, unless Norman lifts wrinkles among Genevieve's button. To be worthwhile or sharp will clean old oranges to daily tease. Get your dully shouting game between my satellite. Some envelopes expect, recommend, and believe. Others strongly change. Will you order without the...

It was scary by John Biltz
0730 the cats were outside enjoying the morning sun happy with life when disaster struck in the form of a huge dog trailing a leash. Bruiser easily dashed back to the safety of me and the patio. Maya was not so lucky. She was out of position to make for the patio and was cut off. I dashed to...

Litter Box Question (Burmese) by Jeanne Hedge
I was at the hairdresser today, and our conversation turned to cats. She said that a friend of hers keeps different litterboxes for use by different breeds of cats, and that the cats are trained so the Burmese kitties use litterboxes far away from the commonly used rooms of the house, while the...

Indie's red greebling chase up the great recliner (movie) by Lorraine
Brian has found that Indie will chase the red greebling to great heights -- all the way up the back of the recliner and back down again at breakneck speed. Here she is in action. Short movie: http://www.raineforest.com/albums/indie/aar.avi The movie could be shorter, but it's my bedtime and I'm...

The Ungrateful Little Snots by Arthur Shapiro
The owners have been really good lately, so I went out and bought an $8/pound slab of fresh salmon. Yesterday I got up 20 minutes early, wrapped the salmon in foil, and baked it. It came out nice and juicy and good looking. I let it cool for five minutes, and divied it up into the five bowls, and...

Booty-Purrs Please by [email protected]
I never talk much about Boots. She is really DH's cat and truthfully doesn't like me much. Well, I guess she likes me but I am definitely her second choice. She was sleeping last night and kept doing this little cough, cough, cough all night. So then I *did* pay attention to her and she has lost a...

Can you believe that cat? by Karen AKA Kajikit
I poured myself a glass of water last night before I went to bed and it sat on my bedside table all night... this morning I got up, drank a few swallows and then carried it back to the living room with me. I put it down on the computer desk next to me, and Silver just jumped up and started lapping...

Burmese and heart problems by Sarah
Hello, I posted this to the health+behav group, and someone suggested that I post it here as well. My cat Morag, who is a Burmese, was diagnosed with severe HCM by my regular vet about a month ago after having undergone an ultrasound. On Thursday she saw a cardiologist at the veterinary hospital...
