Holly is a good nurse by MaryL[_2_]
I'm typing very slowly and mostly one-handed because I fell head-first off a step ladder land landed on my face with my right hand bent under me. It's a low step ladder and I was on the lowest rung, but the hand rail (bar?) is low. When I put both hands on the bar, I lost my balance and went...

Feline Vocabulary by [email protected]
Three cats, one of which appears to have a vocabulary of at least three words: o Food o Water o Treats I can tell by his call which of the three he wants. Is there any accepted word on cat verbal communication? It seems odd to me that one of the three would "speak" while the others do not.

It's only cold if you don't wear fur. by James
As I go out to water the rabbits my cat jumps out from a cozy 60F to a cold 10F. It's still dark but she followed me to the door and zips out when I went out. The water bowls are about half full with solid ice. Had to crack the ice to empty the bowls. The rabbits are active and happy to get...

Tracking Device by Larry R Harrison Jr
I have a cat that perpetually likes to hide & go into seclusion. I don't like that. Two other cats we have never do that, and don't bully the 3rd one, and we'd rather then 3rd one be "out & about" to socialize with the others rather than hiding all the time. Sometimes she hides so strongly, you...

Greedy cat by Chris
Hi, I have two cats. One is a female and a normal weight. One is a neutered male and is getting tubby. He seems to eat about 3 times the recommended amount of cat food he should be eating. I feed them both dry and wet cat food. The female seems to prefer the wet food, whilst the male prefers...

Well....thank you by Nancy Verzich
My first foray into this newsgroup was not a nice one. Except for a very select few who responded with caring and kindness (and to those, thank you very much), the rest of those who responded were not very nice to me. I didn't post to ask for your approval or your lectures....I was upset...

Henry finds a new home? (long.. is anyone on a dialup anymore?) by Brian Link
On Thursday, I'll be bringing Henry to his "foster parents". We cuddled for a half hour on the couch tonight, and he got an extra-long session in our bedroom/quarantine with my wife and myself. As if to **** me off, as I was bringing Henry downstairs to do his time in our basement with a treat, I...

Where do you get your L-Lysine? by Meghan
Hi, I have a beautiful little 15-month old cat (Bailey) who was diagnosed by my vet with Feline Herpes at age 6 months. He already had it when he came to us from the shelter. His main symptom is his eyes - constantly flaring up, the lids getting red and he is always squinting. I can count on...

Well, we are sort of on-call for tomorrow. Due to my own health issues, I had to put it off and if it doesn't get done tomorrow, it will likely have to be put off again for another month or so. (I am having Radioactive Iodine Treatment on 6/20...) At any rate, we had a full blood panel done on...

Driving Cross Country by [email protected]
I will be moving to Oregon next week from Iowa, and I'm bringing my 2 cats with me. I am planning to drive as much as I can before stopping for the night (12-14 hours). I'm worried about how the cats will fare for such a long trip. One of my cats hates the car, and I do have a sedative from the...
