Chester has a purrday! by Susan M[_3_]
Hi all: Chester's 12th purrday was almost lost. His honourary 12th purrday (not sure what the real day was) was the 19th of July. Otis was 12.5 that day. Chester is remains fluffy and cheerful and celebrated by waking us up at 4 AM today and settling in for a good loud leg groom by our faces....

Smudge the Hunter by [email protected]
Lately Smudge has been showing up at my front door with prey in various stages of the dying process. I can always tell when she has something, because she gives a distinctive type of cry. It's actually quieter than her usual "let me in" cry, probably because her voice is muffled. :) Last night I...

The Princess Rita and the Thunderstorm by Jane
We had a lovely storm tonight. Booming thunder, torrents of rain, lightning, and the lights and television were flickering on and off. And here is the Princess: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/20159731 Not much upsets her. Really. Jane

Reason # 67 why Roxie scares me by Baha via CatKB.com
When we received Marilyn's babies, China Doll and Randy--who is now known as Master Philip or Fella for short--we knew we had to acclimate the family to a new feeding structure, to the chagrin of the other spoiled darlings. The Fella is a dignified, toothless gent who needs canned food, ordinarily...

PING Pat: I WON!! by [email protected]
OK, I lied. Well, I didn't lie, but I simply couldn't stay away from SuperCollapse Online. I've been playing since about one day after I said I was going to give it up. :) And without any RSI effects, either (at least, that I can feel). So maybe I was just having a bad day or something. Anyway, I...

I have an evil plan... by Adrian[_2_]

Might As Well Talk To The Wall by Mare
I just got done reading Marina's story about Nikki (RIP, precious girl) talking to walls (thanks to Flippy). Does anybody know why (save for the mothership thing) furkids do that? My little Princess Meena talks to the kitchen wall on Sundays only (we're usually doing the crossword puzzle at the...

Chair Greeblings by jmcquown[_2_]
There's a chair in the "TV room" (for lack of a better term) Persia hadn't paid any attention to. But last night it was covered with particularly sneaky greeblings! Persia sniffed the chair for a few minutes, looking at it very suspiciously. Then WHAM! Up she went, chasing all the greeblings...

Need cooking advice by Jofirey
I have dozens of ripe tomatoes. I've been pruning like mad, but that is just making the tomatoes bigger. So its time to make salsa fresca. I'll chop the tomato and onion in cubes that will fit on the chips. (Also have lovely home grown red torpedo onions) I'm not using celery. I may dice in a...

Going On Vacation For Awhile by Kyla =^. .^=`[_2_]
Hi everyone I'm going on vacation from here for awhile. I don't want to cause any more of a fuss than I already have. But first, I want to say a few things. Yes, I am in a lot of pain, from my knees, which feel like they're broken all my waking hours. And yes I do have emotional/depression...

Maryweather went to the Rainbow Bridge by Ted Davis[_2_]
I stepped outside for a moment and when I started back in I saw Maryweather lying dead under the back steps. I can't bury her right now because the reason I was headed back inside was that there were skunks only a few feet away. No visible injuries - I have no idea what killed her, though there...

Kitty tales by [email protected]
Charleen passed on a collection of short stories that all contain at least one cat that is essential to the story, if not the complete focus of it. I've read 5 or 6 of them so far. One of them is about a woman who lives alone with two cats. She starts dating this guy, and pretty soon it starts to...

Shadow lives up to his name by Adrian[_2_]
Every week I do the shopping for the elderly lady across the road, Jessie's slave, today I had taken her shopping in and was chatting in her kitchen when Shadow walked through the door and had a look round. He seemed happy when I came home, running in front of me and waiting by the door. A...

Back in the saddle soon by Jane
In what has to be the fastest turnover in history, I got a job offer on Friday, just two weeks after being let go from my last job. I don't even know yet what the offer is, but it was the first job that interviewed me and did a 2nd interview, both over the phone. They haven't even met me, and they...
