Mayhem never gets enough by
Mischief
As soon as I wake up, use the facilities and go back to bed, "Meow Meow
Meow Meow!!"
I roll over, "Meow Meow Meow Meow!!" I have to hide my hands under the
covers cause she has started to nip them. Five minutes later I have to
roll over cause Mayhem has spotted bed mice and starts attacking...

An upside down world by

*Chester* has now jumped up onto the roof and *meowed* incessantly to be let
in on no fewer than two separate occasions. *Chester* ran Otis off the bed
lastnight (for a time anyway). *Otis* allowed the 9 year old next door to
pick him up and carry him around. Things just aren't right.
I have...

Update 2: KFC by
Christina Websell
KFC is doing really well. She has already learnt that she gets her meal in
the bedroom just for herself (without Boyfie) and she puts herself on the
spare bed and says "prrrrt" Like: gimme my nice renal food here NOW even
with auntibios in.
I might be wrong, but she seems to have improved...

This article is all about a pack of killer raccoons in Olympia, WA.
They're killing innocent cats. I thought this might be important for
anyone living in that area or anyone with an outdoor cat in an area
with raccoons....

You walk into the room...... by
Mischief
.....and I'm lying there with my eyes half closed.
I feel your presence and I can almost see you eying me up and down.
I try to ignore you, and try to fight the urge within me to turn my
smoldering eyes onto you.

Home again by
Annie Wxill
It took us three days to drive from the S. Carolina Coast to Corpus Christi,
Texas. We have a rental minivan with an awesome air conditioning system.
Rosie and Cinder rode in roomy hard-sided travel crates.
They certainly like boating better than traveling by car. Cinder complained
(made me...

[OT] Proud MaMere by
CatNipped
I got a call from Alexis (the middle girl, 12-year-old granddaughter).
It seems St. Bernard Parish, being still population sparse, has decided
to make the high school (Chalmette High) run from 7th grade to 12th
grade instead of 9th to 12th as is usual.
They held cheerleading try-outs and Alexis,...

Lacey is sooo sick by
Julie Cook
My Lacey-Bug has a such a bad head cold and she is so miserable. She can't
breath through her nose and today she began making a little puffhh noise as
she breathed out through her mouth. It sounded like she was pushing her
breath out of her lungs and she'd begun to drool. So of course I...

Ebenezer and Snooch meet Cthulhu by
John F. Eldredge
Since anything to do with cats is officially on-topic in this group,
and Cthulhu is also (somewhat) on-topic, take a look at the sequence
of web cartoons starting with http://www.twolumps.net/d/20060814.html.

Patio Cleanup Finally Done! by
jmcquown
A while back I posted about reclaiming my fenced-in patio so Persia and I
could enjoy sitting outside again. The apartment manager sent someone over
earlier this week, unbeknownst to me. I walked out to get the mail and WOW!
All the evil monkey grass is gone! So are the shrubs, bushes or...

Another Lacey Question by
Julie Cook
I'm sorry to be so needy lately, but well...I feel like I'm over my head
here and the stress from DH doesn't help. For several hours all I've heard
is "take her to the vet, you have to take her to the vet...she has
pneumonia, she's going to die..take her in the morning and leave her with

OT question: avoiding shortening for cornbread? by
Monique Y. Mudama
I've noticed the more authentic (ie, not in a "cooking healthy/ light/
lowfat/ etc" book) cornbread recipes always call for shortening to
coat the pan.
Would it be a disaster to use spray Pam or something instead?
I just don't have much use for shortening, so I don't see the point of
buying any...

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW by
Victor Martinez
I'm sitting at the computer, which is in a wooden armoire in our study.
I have my right foot on the edge of the wood, so that my heel is kinda
hanging in the air. I feel whiskers and a paw with claws. I look down
and see Rufous pawing my heel. I say "silly Rufous, that's just my
foot!" and keep...

UPDATE: KFC by
Christina Websell
Kitty is home, I just fetched her.
The diagnosis is CRF :-( with a touch of senility thrown in.
Her thyroid and liver are fine and she doesn't have a UTI. Her white cells
were a bit raised so she has antibiotics for a week. I'm not looking
forward to pilling her twice a day, that's for...
