Keeping a cat from running outside? by
~*Connie*~
only recommendation I have is to make outside as scary as possible for them.
Leave the door open on purpose one day with someone standing outside. the
second they step outside, make lots of loud obnoxious noises. You'll
probably have to do it several times over a course of some time.

F3 Bengal Cat Seeks New Home by
Nicolaas
I have an F3 female Bengal I am placing for a friend. The owner is in the
military and had to move and I offered to list her online to see if anyone
is interested. The cat is in the Phoenix, AZ area. She gets along well
with other animals but is a pretty mellow easy going cat that prefers not...

Chicken Pox by
Granny
Hi everyone, our grandson has a bad case of chicken pox so we have him
locked in the garage. My neigbor says that chicken pox will kill a cat
and we definatly don't want the cats to get it. I have been applying
that pink calamine lotion on the cats that I see scratching
themselves. I hope this is...

need help ID-ing breed by
Cris Cho
Hi... many years ago a friend of mine (who I've now lost touch with) had a
neighbour who had a pair of cats: shorthairs, big black and white patches
(i.e. non-spotty or tabby-striped). My memory is so-so on the tails; I'm
pretty sure they were non-fluffy, but I really don't recall if they...

Transporting a cat on a long trip by
Mark Werner
I picked up a short haired cat at a shelter about 3 years ago. They
said she was about 5 years old at that time. Bringing her home in the
cat carrier still ranks among the most heart-wrenching experiences of
my life. She meowed constantly, sounded totally terrified.
After 3 years, she's worked out...

A Very Hairy Cat by
Sue Too
In February my cat was diagnosed with hyper thyroid. I was given a
choice of treatments, all expensive, and after looking at what each
involved, decided to go with a radium treatment. It involved one shot,
a four day stay at a special clinic, and two weeks for special
treatment of waste, at home....

Claws by
David Wright
Hello,
My cat is continually scratching my neighbours cars - they have caught him
scratching up and down the wings, and on the bonnet. They have been decent
enough about it, but patience only lasts for so long!
My question is, is it legal or ethical or possible to get a cat's...

Keeping cats from littering in garden? by
C Coward
We've recently moved into a new house, cleared loads of weeds from the
garden in preparation for doing something with it, and currently have a
garden that consists only of soil. There are apparently a few cats in the
area which (perhaps unsurprisingly) find this an extremely attractive area
to...

IAMS DOG AND CAT FOOD WARNING by
kelly
If you buy dog or cat food from the Iams Pet Food Company, you need to
visit a website iamscruelty.com.
Apparently, Iams keeps cats and dogs to TEST their foods on before it
goes to market. I had no idea pet food manufacturers used animals to
make a better food - but some do! Iams keeps cats and...

Dermuid
I thought I would up grade and bough a staywell 400 magnetised doodah with
authentic mouse ball collar, well let me tell you here and now that the
magnetic cat flap is useless.
The reason being is the magnetic collar part must come into contact with the
base of the cat flap for it to work otherwise...

Cats alone... how long? by
Ablang
I was wondering... How long has anyone here left their cat(s) alone
when going on a short vacation, with everything taken care of, of course
(automatic pet feeder, plenty of water, lots of litterboxes out, etc).
What's the longest you've left your cat(s) alone, and what extra
things did you put...

Trick to make cat drink more water by
Ablang
One day when I was sitting on the can, I noticed my kitty displaying
some strange behavior. She jumped up onto the sink and into the bowl (not
unusual), and was trying to lick water from the faucet for the 1st time (it
doesn't drip at all).
So that kind of told me that she isn't getting enough...

Cats are now universally recognised as the gardener's public enemy No.1.
I & my wife love our garden & try to keep it in good condition .... growing

In how many countries is microchipping pets compulsory?
So far, I know that it became compulsory in Israel a few years ago for
dogs to be microchipped (not so sure about all cats - the last I heard
was that if they are kept indoors the whole time, they don't have to be
microchipped, but this may...
