turd hockey? by
Vanessa Rochette
my two cats have a facination with playing with their turds
I've caught them pulling them out of their litter box. I've tried cleaning
the box more often and it doesn't matter if there's just one in there
they'll play with it. What should I do? I don't want to discipline them to
harshly because...

John E. Jaku-Hing
My wonderful cat is beginning to worry me. I am in the process of
selling my house. I am planning to relocate, "downgrade" and purchase
outright. However, for the time being, I was planning on leasing for
the next 6 months to finish up my assignment in the city, and my cat
is coming with me. ...

I have just adopted an (approx) 2 year old cat called Lily from my local

biting in the middle of the night by
sushi
hi,
this might seem kind of strange. my 2-year old tabby has always gotten
plenty of love and attention, but i've recently moved to a new place
further from work. this means that i'm home less often and don't get
to spend as much time playing with him as he's used to.
he likes to play, a LOT, and...

Neutering the older female cat by
Lipgor
Hello everyone,
I am torn about the decision to neuter my 7-year old cat. I think that
it might be beneficial for her in the long run, but I am really scared
about possible complications and not sure if I have the moral right to
do it to her.
I paid $90 for her blood test, and vet told me she was...

Tabasco´s bladder infection by
Martini
This is an update:
After wednesday´s visit to the vet (Tabasco got a penicillin shot + a
homeopathic remedy to be given at home 3 times a day), we went there
again on friday, as the vet requested. I told the vet that I´ve seen
no improvement during wednesday and friday. Tabasco was still...

Kitten Poop! by
Karen M.
To my fellow feral caretakers, have a question:
I posted pics recently of my two lovely semi-feral kittens, Miss
Marmalade (Marmie) and Harley. They are doing great for the most part,
except for one little problem - Marmie is not going in the litter box.
She goes *around* the litter box, but not...

Euthanasia at home? by
A.J. Rivett
Has anybody here ever euthanized their own cat or know a good, quick,
humane method of doing so?
I have a 15 year old female cat in good shape and she's a fine friend
but I know that the clock is ticking when they get to this age. She
hates going to the vet and I would like her final exit to be...

Cat has one pupil dilated by
FlVEbyFiVE
The vet found an ulcer on my cat's left eye. He gave me 3 ointments for it
(atropine, trifluridine, and triple antibiotic). Since I started applying the
meds, the eye's pupil has been dilated all day. Is this normal, or should I
take the cat back to the vet?

Catnip effect? by
Chakolate
Hi, all,
A quick question if you don't mind.
I give my cats quite a bit of catnip, both fresh and dried. A few weeks
ago, some workmen started sandblasting the house next door, and one of my
cats, Pi, got very spooked. He hid all day while they were there, making
noise with the machines and...

Drooling cat - why? by
MsKitty834
A 2 year-old semi-feral spayed female cat who lives in my office is suddenly
drooling quite a lot. I'll take her to the vet Friday - can't before that - but
what *could* it be?? I managed to catch her and look in her mouth, and there's
nothing noticeable or unusual there. There is nothing she could...

I scared her silly by

Anyone ever notice any odd behavior in a cat when they first discover
a mirror? This morning Bonnie was watching me in a full length mirror
in my room while I was getting dressed for work, just staring at me,
though I noticed she was staring at herself, too. I was behind her
and I guess she...
