On 2005-01-14, Barb penned: Bought a little alarm through a catalog- I've seen these in a couple of catalogs- and it works! My two older cats never go on the glass top coffee table or the glass top table by the mirrored wall. They are allowed everyplace else. But the baby (2 years old)...

Digital bath scale for people as well as cats? by RPSinha
Both I and my cat need a weighing scale and I was wondering if we could get by with one. For myself, I don't require analysis of water, fat, bone, etc.; accurate and consistent weight readings would do. Good readable display etc. For the kitty, I was thinking it should be accurate to 0.1 lbs....

Crushing Methimazole? by Tony Toon
We recently got a third kitty, a middle-aged one from my sister. She moved to England recently, and can't take the cat with her. She takes 5mg of Methimazole twice daily, or at least is supposed to. The old cats are chasing and fighting her constantly, so she won't let anybody get near her, and...

update on Jack's swallowed toy by Governor George Liquor
About 15 minutes ago, I stepped away from the Monday Night Football game (which the Bucs seem determined to give away) for a few moments, and when I returned there was a small but grotesque puddle in the hall off my living room. Promiently featured in it was a much-abused segement of...

Is this cat food okay? by Jeff Harper
Hi, Have two cats. One is way overweight, the other fine. They've been free-feeding their whole lives--in recent years, dry weight-management kibble. Decided to feed less.. feed only a couple times a day and use canned wet food.

Carpet Scratching by Ricardo
Hi, I'm lucky in the respect that my cat doesn't scratch the carpet. At the moment I've got a "twist pile" carpet but now fancy a "loop pile". I've heard that loop pile isn't a good idea if you've got a cat, but as he doesn't scratch at the moment will start if I get a loop pile as it would give...

Vent/Rant - Persians by KellyH
Poor Persians. Bred for a feature which makes it hard for them to breathe and leaves them susceptible to upper respiratory infections. Purchased for their beauty and status as a "rich person's cat", but then neglected because they require so much work. We get yet another Persian in horrible...
