Does your cat prefer..... by
Gloria
hard (dry) food or canned food? My short hair cat he likes can, but will
eat dry also. My Maine Coon won't eat much can food.

Archer and Ozzie Update by
CatNipped
Both boys, while still sneezing just a bit, are outrageously healthy and
have almost doubled their weight and size in the last three weeks - and they
*should* have, they eat like any teen-aged boy does!!!

Advantage and pregnant kitties? by
Dennis Carr
Here's a question for youse guys. No resp. on RPC.health, but low traffic
there. (Sorry if there's a duplicate...)
Got cats. Got fleas. Cats are pregnant.
I've checked with not only our vet, but several vets that specialize in
cats in the orange county CA area - almost all of them say there is...

Names by
CatNipped
We're thinking about "Archer" and "Ozzy" for the boys and "Jade" for little
mama but nothing's set in stone yet - we'll have to wait until they pick
their own names before we'll know for sure.
In the meantime suggestions on what to suggest to them are still very
welcome.

Duffy's Day - 7th annifursary by
MaryL
I can't believe it...I actually let "Duffy's Day" go by unnoticed until I
read some "congratulations" on another group. Duffy adopted me on Jan. 31,
2003, so we have now had 7 wonderful years together. He was estimated to be
3-5 years old at the time, and probably closer to 5 years. So, that...

Warning - virus attached to some e-greetings (somewhat OT) by
MaryL
This is somewhat off-topic, but I thought it was appropriate because many of
us are sending e-greetings at this time of year.
Be careful when opening electronic greetings. Here is part of a report that
I read on CNN, which warns of a new virus. You need to watch for
e-greetings with the...

Hyperthyroidism and aggression (?) by
Cat person
Is there a link between hyperthyroidism and aggression and/or
terratoriality towards other cats in a household?
We have a 12 year old male (approx. 18 lbs) with confirmed (but mild)
hyperthyiodism (and arthritis). He's been sharing the house and yard
with 2 younger new cats (male and female, both...

more litterbox issues... by
Kitkat
I have seen a flurry of questions about getting cats to use the litterbox and
yep, I've got one, too.
We adopted Lex after a month of visiting him at the shelter. The reason we
didnt adopt him sooner is that he was brought back by an adopter after about 10
days because he wasnt consistently using...

Update: Foster Kitten by
Orchid
A while ago I posted about a tiny, severly malnourished 8 week
old kitten I had found wandering my neighborhood and had taken in.
Foster, I said. Adopt him out to a wonderful home, I said. Get the
basics of training on him, get him habituated to his harness and leash
and send him on his way, I...

chemo by
Betsy
I need advice.
I have a chemo appointment scheduled for my cat (yes, I know I am posting to
two dog NGs) on Friday.
She had a radical lateral mastectomy on Wed. September 17. Her incision
from the first surgery several weeks before that was slow to heal and this
incision is too. I've removed...

Cat Brush by
Fat Freddy
We recently had a longhair cat adopt us and I would like to brush her,
but the brush I use for other other guys, a short hair and medium hair,
doesn't do a very good job on her. It just slides along the surface of
her fur without really brushing her.
What kind of brush should I get? One with fewer...

Need ideas for pet cat memorial by
varois83
Hi
We recently lost our oldest cat of a mouth tumor, she was 15. I buried
her in our yard. I was wondering what kind of framed memorial I could
do for her.
I have pictures on disk and some prior to digital cameras, I also have
Photoshop CS which I can use without being a pro. I have a new...

Kitten Hurt Leg by
red
Boots, my 5 month old kitten liked to go outside in the evening to
chase bugs and stuff, he would come in and out about every half hour
with stories to tell. Five days ago he went out and didn't do his
usual in and out, So I went looking for him, even had the neighbor out

Good Toy by
blueberries79
As I said before, we've had a hard time getting Oreo and Gabe to play with
any 'cat' toys. They don't like the balls with bells, the furry mice, the
hanging ropes, anything with catnip... you get my drift! (Gabe does like
laying on paper, never really figured that out) But, I'm happy to...

Prednisolone cause heart gallop? by

I have been posting about TB, my poor boy that is battling chronic liver disease. My vet had given him prednisolone when he first showed signs of the disease back in October of '04. He responded very well, eating all of his food and acting totally normal. After a couple weeks though, he got sick...
