it's lucky we love 'em by
Jean B.
Because cats can drive you crazy. Ming seems to get into a
non-eating mode once or twice a year. Of course, I start thinking
about crystals and blockages, and I also start worrying about
fatty liver disease.*
I have dragged Mingy to the vet's (not good, because Ming is a
very shy cat and...

Ping Phil: Echo results for HCM diagnosis by
yngver
Repost--
Thanks both Phil and Nomen for your expertise and advice regarding our
newly diagnosed HCM cat.
When I brought her in for her one week re-check last week I was able
to talk to my
regular vet. He is great--he told me that he sees a lot of cats that
if diagnosed early as my cat was, and if...

his swollen gum, and chin. It seems to have resolved itself and looks
fine now. I just came to the house where my cat, and this morning he
comes into my room, opens his mouth to meow, and nothing comes out the

care for pets by
Loving Pets
I have an 18 year old cat whose fur is badly matted. I have not been
able to successfully groom her. Is it dangerous to have her sedated at
this age to have her professionally shaved/clipped? Do you have any
suggestions for dealing with this problem?

My 19 yo cat may have CRF and other issues- need support by
[email protected]
I'm just feeling like I need some cyber hugs here for Tycho. He is 19
and has been on Tapazole for hyperthyroidism for about 1.5 years. I
took him for his checkup last night, and the poor guy has lost 3 lbs
since October. He was last checked (blood) in October of 04. His
kidney function was ok...

Open Cans by
NanCe via CatKB.com
Dear Sheldon,
Whether you keep it in the original can or another container is a
matter of taste. Generally, it should not impart a different taste to
the tuna. The safety issue is only relevant to how clean the new
container is. Obviously, the intent should be to consume the tuna
once...

Advice on a stray cat? by
[email protected]
Hi everyone.
About a month ago a very skinny and very cute cat appeared on my
doorstep and we started feeding him. I called every shelter and animal
rescue organization and they don't have any reports of him or a lost
cat that is even close. I would love to adopt him, but I am not sure
what I...

Levi is growing up by
Lynne
I can't believe it's almost time to neuter this baby! Tomorrow I will be
calling to schedule the procedure for either the end of this month or the
first part of February. I hope it doesn't change his personality at all.
When I got Rudy neutered I was horrified that no sutures were used. It...
