My friend called me last night and asked me to take her dog for a night or 2. Their house had been broken into while they were at work and there was a lot of glass to clean up. In addition to the dog, Polly, they have 2 cats. One cat stayed in the house, but Baby must've gotten scared and ran...

Abelard's anguish is mine too by Pat
He wants something and has been trying to tell me about it for days. I don't know what to do for him. He walks up to me and looks at me and cries insistently. I know it's something "big" because he's using his voice instead of breathing silent miaows. Do we by any chance have a resident rpcs cat...

WOO HOO! Got 'Em!!! by CatNipped
I knew if I waited long enough Jessie would get back into her new favorite squirrel watching spot so I could get some pictures of her from the outside. I was patient, I snuck real quickly to get the shot, and I was rewarded when she showed me what she thought of my efforts (third picture down, the...

(OT) Mayor responds on electric issue by Pat
There was a delay because this week is the bi-annual city cleanup, but the mayor did finally call me and said he'll be over on Monday with his "entire crew" to check this house and see what could be the reason for the excessively high meter readings. I'll post again when the results are in.

Miranda tries to ignore being filmed by Marina
OK, now we have a clip of Miranda, too. I caught her rolling outside in the enclosure, but then she noticed me with the camera and stopped, then she tried to look bored for the camera, then she started playing with a leaf, then she remembers that I'm filming her and tries to look dignified again....

Here's trouble... by Karen AKA Kajikit
Scouty and Silver are fed Science Diet Lite kibble to try and keep their ever-growing tummies under control. I sprinkle on a little bit of kit-n-kaboodle in each bowl to make it a little more interesting (mainly because we fed the neighbours cat for a few weeks and they said 'keep the rest of the...

Snowball is 3 today: Pic by Exocat
And what a mature guy he is: or thinks he is, but he couldn't resist an attack of the Zoomis last night and "chase" with claudius the hoolikitteen is still a regular feature. Snowball's fitted in to his promotion slot of grumpy middle owner, so sadly vacated by Pericles, extremely well. Every so...

Morning coffee by wafflycat
I've just been standing in the kitchen, sipping from a mug of steaming hot caffeine and as I did so I was watching the birds in the garden. As well as many small birds on the various feeding stations, I noticed a couple of female blackbirds picking up bits of moss & loose grass in the...

Kitty mimic by Duke McAdow
I'm still a new cat owner...I adopted two sister cats as kittens and they are about 2-1/2 years old now. One sister (the more submissive one) observes and mimics older cats in the household to a remarkable degree (remarkable to me, anyway). I've caught her carefully observing the older cat, and...

Cats and Music by Mishi
What types of music do your cats like? I just purchased Cusco's Apurimac III album, and started playing it. The first song is called Ghost Dance, and when it came on my cats got all puffy and alarmed (it has heavy drum beats), and ran upstairs. They soon came down with ears swiveling, and figured...

Whole lotta barfin' going on by Pat
Eli and Abelard are doing more than their share of puking for the last day or so. I'm not quite ready to take anyone to the vet yet but if this keeps up for much longer.... It's been mostly water they've hurled so far but Eli lost one load of moist kibble yesterday. Hoping it's not...
