Help - urination by james
I'm wondering if anyone in this group can help me. I have two neutered male cats, one 14, the other 9 years. My problem boy is the younger cat, Smudge. Ever since he was a few months old he has exhibited strong marking behaviour - which is odd because he was neutered at 4 months, and the other...

I can't think of any activities I do with them that really burns calories. Feeding, cleaning, and petting doesn't take much effort.

She got weigh. by James
This morning my Pussy hit the scale at 8.8 pounds. I thought she was heavier but I guess everything feels heavier when one gets old. When she leans against my leg at night it's pretty uncomfortable and may give me leg cramps. Went to the mall and walked a thousand steps. Maybe it'll help.

Did you see the Nightline piece on health problems in pure dogs? Does you pet have problems because of inbreeding? I know some rabbits have teeth problems due to breeding. The piece mentioned that one breed of dogs tend to have a high rate of cancer; flat face dogs have breathing problems; some...

MD's & vets. by James
My problem with MD's is they don't take the time to educate you. This may be due to the fact that they are paid by insurance instead of weathy patients. They put you through a bunch of cover theiir ass tests and are lousy in the art of healing. Worst are the ones who couldn't get a good job and...

Scratching by James
Other than blood sucking pests, why would a cat do a lot of scratching? My pussy was sleeping and suddenly had a scratching and licking fit. She then jumped out of bed. Several minutes later she came back and curled up to sleep. I hope it's not fleas as she infected the house with fleas last...

I give up. by James
I'm starting to put the lid down on the toilet. She makes my skin craw insisting on drinking from the toilet instead of the water bowl. She's almost in the bowl to get to the water. She's too lazy to go to her water bowl.

My pussy ain't sleeping with me. by James
When it was freezing cold outside she came in and slept with me. Now it's not freezing she is nowhere to be found. In the mornings she would come in and sleep in the bed till the afternoon. Don't know if she's up all night now that it's warmer. I think she just used me when it was cold.

I read in another thread that cats don't like having it applied to them. Are there anti flea and tick products that doesn't bother the cat?

Change of eating habits. by James
My pussy used to love the chicken I got from the Chinese buffet. Now she's not interested. She also leave a lot of her dry food uneaten. However she loves to stick her head in the bag of dry food for the same thing she leaves on her dish.

Today she played catch me if you can. She came up to me but when I tried to pick her up she moved a couple feet away. She kept that up and we ended up in the neighbors back yard. She then hop the fence into another yard. Well, I know I wasn't going to be able to catch her so I went back home. ...

Would you starve your pet so it will live longer? by James
There are people starving themselves in order to live longer. It's been proven in rats that limited food resulted in longer life spans. So would you? Or at least don't give food treats?
