Idea for Tak- thoughts? by
Sue
Dear rpca folks,
please look gently upon me, I who may seem to be an interloper and I guess
am properly called a "lurker" (although I have posted just a bit here and
there).
I began subscribing to this newsgroup when the good folks here were on Tak's
case about getting a cat. And avidly followed...

Amber RB by
---MIKE---
About 2:00 this afternoon Amber started twitching her legs. I made a
vet appointment for 3:45. When I put her in the carrier she had stopped
breathing. The vet tech confirmed that she was gone. I left her to be
cremated. I'm glad that she died peacefully. She left a big hole in my
heart. We...

Rainbow Bridge by

I haven't posted on here for ages...I do read the messages though and get
the cats to send purrs to all those in need.
Today I said goodbye to Polly, she went down hill very quickly and blood
tests and a scan today revealed malignant abnormalities in her liver. An
operation to remove the...

Is Pet Food Hazardous To Humans? by
Guillaume Ier de Normandie
My lover died of hiv related illness recently. He had a little yorkie
named Rooney. On his death bed he made me promise to take care of him
after his death. I said of course! After he died, I took Rooney out
into the country and dropped him off on the side of the road because I
hated that little...

OTP: Holy cow, er, cat by
Jo Firey
A cat that attends church? At Sunday's 10:00 a.m. service at Mission
Hills
United Methodist Church, in pranced a handsome gray and white long-haired
cat. It cruised the aisles, licked its fur, and curled up in a pew right
next to
parishioner Larry Granfield for a cat nap - right in the middle of...

Purr Pad by
Kris Dockter
I bid, won and received my Purr Pad from a fellow seller on eBay and
the cats love it!! You can take a look at it on Kitty-Cam
(http://www.kittycam.net/).
It's filled with cat nip and also included a little kitty pillow and
ball with catnip. Great seller, and I'm probably going to buy more!

Last Hospital Update by
Dianne
I am unsure what Magpie wrote, but I called her as soon as I was able to
talk without turning into a sobbing heap, well almost timed it right. I
turned into one when I hung up. THey pronounced her this morning at 10:45
am. They had finished one of the tests that determined blood flow to...

Kreisleriana[_3_]
There is a great anniversary celebrated this week. No, not that one-- the

and brought him home. It was seventeen years ago.
(NB: Stinky's seventeenth purrday was celebrated nat the beginning of the

Your purrs worked again - THANKS!!!! by
CatNipped
I just talked to the vet's office and they said Sammy was just fine,
she's awake and came through like a trooper.
When I asked, they said they "discouraged" mommies from coming to
visit since it makes the kitty think she's going home and stresses her
more when she can't - but they'll allow a visit...

Another purr request I'm afraid by
Exocat
Luckily this doesn't involve any felines, just hoomins, but I hope you
don't mind if I ask for some consolatory purrs for the following:
My aunt Felicity died recently aged 78 and leaves 3 children &
assorted grandchildren who miss her greatly.
My other aunt Olga aged 87 died today, in a kindly...

Cute, but I've never taken a broom or a dust pan to them by
Larry Osborne
I sometimes wonder about cats. Some peoples cats hate vacuums but will play
with the broom if you decide to sweep something up.
My pair almost never hear the vacuum as I hate the sound almost as much as
most cats. Indeed when I was a teenager my mother could drive me out of the
house just by...

Purrs for Cleo please by
[email protected]
In brief, over the weekend, Cleo had to go to the Emergency vet
because I thought she was having a fit, but it seems that my quiet,
unassuming girl had an abscess in her mouth which burst. It must have
been agony for her. I was in the study when I heard a scream of pain
from a cat. When I rushed...

Bossy Pants Humming Bird - OT by
---MIKE---
oldhickery asked:
We have Ruby Throats and Black
Chins, here...what do you have in NH?
Only Ruby Throats here. I enjoyed your slide show. Was that a
HummZinger feeder? I notice that they weren't using the perch. With
mine I added a closer perch on two sides which they seem to prefer. ...

I'm with Bob...maybe by
JBHajos
I did the same thing Bob did. I got ticked off at some rancorous
posts and, after over seven years with the Group, I quit. It lasted
about 6 - 8 weeks. Like Bob, I checked in again a week or so ago,
only to find even more horrendous viciousness going on. I've read
every post and I find this...

Facial expressions by
Takayuki
Most all cats have very sweet faces and beautiful eyes, but they
generally don't seem to have facial expressions the way hoomins do.
Cats seem to have better control of the snout and ears than we do, but
less fine control around the eyes and mouth.
Still, I think I've seen Betty smile and frown. ...

A stuck kitty by
Takayuki
When I was getting out of the shower yesterday, I heard a repeated, throaty
"Owwwwwww". I wasn't concerned, as it sounded like what Buster occasionally
does while patrolling the hallways.
But then, I noticed that it was coming from where my desk was, which was
odd, because that's one of Buster's...
