[OT] Yowlet Update by
Yowie
Cary is now 8 months old. He can't crawl yet, but knows how to pivot on his
tummy, and then roll to get wherever he need to go. Fluffy has learnt his
faceoften has a good source of scroungable food and that Cary doesn't mind
being licked so much as we do. so Cary usually has a clean face. He...

[OT] You know its time to wax... by
Yowie
You know its time to wax when you notice your 6 month old son staring
intently at you. You think its incredibly cute and adorable until he slowly
reaches out his hands to explore the thing that has his rapt attention....
And grabs your "nanny goat" chin hairs.
Guess its time to go back to the...

Sorry I haven't been posting very much lately. I'm still working 14 - 16

therapy, and learning yoga in all my spare time!! ; I'm still sending
purrs for all who need them, and trying to at least spot check posts for

[OT] YIKES! Bandwidth disaster by
[email protected]
I got an email from my ISP today saying that I've used 25 *gigabytes*
of bandwidth this month, and at this rate, I will end up owing $193 at
the end of the month. Of course, I assumed this was a mistake, because
I never use anywhere near that much. So I called them, and the guy I
talked to said...

[OT] Yay for my sister! by
Mark Edwards
My sister, who has led a "difficult" life, has finally gotten a great
break - her first professional illustrator job. She did the illustrations
for a new children's book called "Grandpa's Woods".

[OT] Writing Gothic Horror by
Yowie
Cleaning out the ancient archives on my work PC, I discovered the first few
paragraphs of my yet-to-be-published Gothic Horror novel, which I started
back in 1995, long before I started writing cat anecdotes. And trust me, the
cat anecdotes (despite their abscence at the moment) are far far...

[OT] Wrist Pulse Monitor by
CatNipped
Anyone have one of these? Can anyone make any recommendations for a
cheapie? I'd just need something that I can wear on my wrist that will
monitor my pulse as I bike so I can stay in my ideal heart rate range for
exercising.
Hugs,

[OT] Worms by
Yowie
Cary wishes to know how worms drink. I suggested "through a straw" but he
just said in a totally patronising way "Don't be so silly, Mummy!".
So, do you any of you folks know how worms drink?

[OT] Word Rant by
CatNipped
When precisely did the word "conversate" become a word (apparently a verb)?
I've heard it used a lot lately, it's even used in a song I otherwise like.
The president is on TV and was just asked by a senior White House reporter
"why haven't they conversated....". What was wrong with the word...

[OT] Wilma Update 20A by
Jeanne Hedge
This message is marked as "Off Topic", so if you're not interested
don't complain - ask yourself why are you reading it.
According to CNN, nobody knows *where* Wilma, now down to Category 4,
is going. A few minutes ago their weather expert said it's just as
likely to keep heading west into Mexico...

[OT] Why we love children - humor by
CatNipped
A kindergarten pupil told his teacher he'd found a cat, but it was dead.
"How do you know that the cat was dead?" she asked her pupil. "Because I
p*ssed in its ear and it didn't move," answered the child innocently. You
did WHAT ? ! ?" the teacher exclaimed in surprise. "You know," explained...

[OT] Why Parents Drink by
Yowie
Had to share this:
To my friends with Children: Why parents drink
The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in
sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he
dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's
whisper. "...

[OT] Why I'm Tired by
CatNipped
For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, not enough
sunshine, too much pressure from my job, earwax build-up, poor blood
pressure or anything else I could think of. But now, I found out the real
reason: I'm tired because I'm overworked.
Here's why:
The population of this country...

[OT] Why I have a first aid certificate by
Yowie
I was in Big W at lunch doing a spot of shopping. Suddenly a woman ran out
of the toy aisle screaming "what do I do what do I do?". She went back into
the aisle, and came back out holding her daughter, perhaps 3 at the most,
who had blood gushing down her face and was crying loudly.
A crowd of...

[OT] Why do insurance companies have to make things so complicated? by
Monique Y. Mudama
I'm seeing a therapist. Therapy is supposedly covered under our
insurance, at a very good rate, but my therapist doesn't file the
paperwork herself, so I have to pay her at the time of service and
then get reimbursed by the insurance company. No problem.
Well, I have a receipt for a bunch of...
