I got this email from Nutro. Thought I'd sha We have just been made aware that Menu Foods has expanded the date range of their recall. NO New Products are being added and we ask all Nutro customers that have any wet "cuts & gravy style" pet foods product, regardless of the "best by date," to no...

Downside of Fewer Depo Medrol Shots? by cybercat
Some of you know that I have a cat with allergies and asthma, "EGC" immune system problems. Because she gets both lesions of the lip and linear granulomas on her legs, AND asthma attacks and congestion AND general itchiness to the point of scratching her ears raw, my vet and I decided early on...

Vaccinosis? Sore in kitty's neck. by johnnaoleary via CatKB.com
Hi All, I'm not a newbie but I haven't posted in a long time. I recently adopted a feral, a beautiful little girl named Paris. While I was looking for the right home for her I had her vaccinated, spayed and boostered. A week after her booster she developed a sore on the back of her neck. At first...

Kitty jealous of new baby by Wendy
I got an email from a woman who adopted one of my fosters a couple of years ago. This person has been an excellent pet owner and has always gotten the appropriate vet care for her two babies. From the sound of her email this current problem has her at her wits end though. She said that the...

Inappropriate Urination: dangit, louis by Brian Link
Our 5 year old Bengal has resumed his affection for peeing on our front door. We'd almost broken him of the habit, but in the last few weeks he's back at it. The vet gave him an "all-clear" for urinary or bladder issues. When he started this behavior, it was classic marking: back legs...

[OT] Movie Reviews by CatNipped
Yesterday we went to see "The DaVinci Code". It was OK, it wasn't as bad as some of the critics have said, but it wasn't as good as the 3 months of promotion leading up to it would have you believe. C+ / B- But after we saw that we snuck into "Over The Hedge" (oooo, we're movie criminals). That...

Clipping Cat's nails question by Sammi-Luv-ver via CatKB.com
Hi, I would NEVER get my Sammi declawed..And I don't care for soft paws either.. But her claws do get sharp. At a recent vet's visit the vet described them as "daggers" and clipped them. The result was great. She still had use of them, but they wouldn't tear skin on the slightest contact....

I've had my cat Bizzy to the vet twice in 3 weeks now because she was lethargic, not eating, sneezing and had swollen lymph glands in her neck. She had also had an infection in her left eye resulting in third lid extending over her eye. On the first visit, they did a CBC, etc and found nothing,...

Sapphire by Barb
This week my Sapphire has to have a tooth pulled. She will need light anesthesia. To make matters worse she doesn't seem to jump anymore and goes up the stairs slowly. The vet gave her a cortisone shot a week ago which if it helped would mean she has arthritis. I don't think it helped. She...

Hands sore from scooping by Dave
Anyone else have sore joints in your hands from scooping? I'm having to take Vioxx because of it. Also lots of back pain from getting down on the floor to scoop. I've resolved that problem by buying card tables and putting the litter boxes on top of the tables. The kitties do learn to jump up...
