A kissing cat by
Dick Peavey
My cat recently has taken to kissing me! At least that is what I think it
is.
He is in bed with me, then purposely strides up to my face, and deliberately
plants his nose on my nose. I was a little disconcerted at first, but have
taken to nosing him back.
Have you all heard of such a thing? Is...

Mixing cats with and without ocular herpes by
joeblow
A situation has arisen for me in which I've moved into a friend's
apartment with my two 1.5 year old cats (sisters) who do not show any
signs of ocular herpes, and to my knowledge (based on numerous checkups
with a vet) are healthy and disease free. My roommate has a cat that
has in the past shown...

Lymphoma recovery? by
Lee
My cat "Freedom" was recently afflicted by loss of body-coordination/ control
in her back end (legs, excretory function), and getting worse throughout her
body over time (so she finally would just lay flat on her side, just crawling a
bit, with little interest in trying to eat or drink). She also...

One of my cats, Riley, strikes me has being handier with his paws then
what is usual, at least in my own experience. None of his paw tricks
are unique, but taken as a group, it seems that he's really jonesing
for an opposable thumb. Alas, his genetic line stops here. Anyway, I'm
going to share some...

more on the heart & kidney problems by
Glitter Ninja
Hi all! I posted last week about Spam, my 13 year old boy cat who has
a heart murmur and kidney problems. We had the ultrasound today and got
some better news. The murmur/cardiomyopathy is the most serious problem
so he's been put on atenolol. He's got a checkup in a week and once his
heart...

In Love with Anti Icky Poo - Urine cleanup by
[email protected]
As some of you know, my 19 yo has been having accidents lately. I had
purchased a quart spray bottle of Anti Icky Poo (AIP)(a bacterial based
cleaner) about a month back. I'm ready to post my review. This stuff
ROCKS! I was previously using Capture (dry powder cleaner) to do all
urine spots,...

Fireworks - thankfully it's all over till New Year... by
chas
Hopefully.
Anyone in the UK with nervous pets will no doubt be welcoming the hopeful
end of the Bonfire Night carryon which usually starts 2 weeks earlier and in
many cases goes on way after the 5th as well.
My cat has spent the last few nights in hiding behind the settee and not
even the choice...

Hair Loss by
Wendy
My long haired 4-5 yr. old Isabelle is losing more hair around her hind
quarters. We adopted her around 2 years ago and she came with a bald belly
(they had shaved her to look for her spay scar) but long hair everywhere
else and thick hair on her hind legs. Her tummy hair appeared to be making...

Cat that licks edges. by
Angela St.Aubin
Hi,
One of my cats does something that has always confused me,. so I figured I
would ask about it here.
He licks things. I know a lot of cats do, but I dont mean food things, or
plastic, which he does, but he is constantly licking the edges of things. Of
anything, a book, a table, a wall, anything...

Kitten that never shuts up by
mig31m6
Hello Everyone
We have a 6 mo. old female kitten that does not shut up. She even
seems to talk to herself. She was always yappy but it increased after
she was spayed. I should point out that she is an indoor cat that only
gets outside if one of us is with her or sometimes by herself for a
short...

Hello all,

Cat scratches itself until it bleeds by
[email protected]
We have a female cloud tabby aged about 4 years that has taken to
excessive scratching - to the point that she is digging at her own
flesh. We have always been regular with flea treatments and she is in
overall excellent health.
About six months ago she began scratching on the rear of her neck...

How to make a litter box from a priority mail box by
[email protected]
OK, as you may know, my 19 yo needed a new litter in our family room to
help him with his accidents. I grabbed a priority mail box (the kind
you get free at the post office)(good thing I am an eBayer and have
this handy) and sliced the top off of it, leaving the side panels and
sticky side intact....

augh! heart murmurs and chronic renal failure... by
Glitter Ninja
Well, I got Spam to the vet today, and discovered he wasn't as
arthritic as thought. His back legs are the result of an underdeveloped
cerebellum and he isn't in any pain, but we should watch for arthritis
in his hips in the future.
He had a very slight kidney infection which is what was making...
