[OT] cougar playing with beach ball by
John F. Eldredge
I have just posted a video clip (cougar_toy.mpg) to
alt.binaries.pictures.animals, with the subject line 'cougar playing
with beach ball - "cougar_toy.mpg". It is cute, but, at 20.6 MB,
probably not a practical download unless you have a broadband Internet
connection.
I went to the Nashville Zoo...

Don't forget your stories for the 1st and other cat news by
Tanada
Pam the organizer giggle here. Those of you who are writing stories
for the Sept. 1 challenge, don't forget. There's still time to get them
written and ready to post. Remember, your story can be of any kind, but
has to be told from a feline's view point.
Also, if we're going to have that...

Hobo's Sick by
JBHajos
Hobo has had some trouble walking the past few weeks. His back legs
seemed to be weakening a bit but it was not particularly alarming. We
assumed it was due to the dregs of the maulings he endured last summer
and his lengthy recovery from bites on his back leg. Also, since his
escapade down the...

Felix - the one who could open doors. (RIP) by
Bettina
This afternoon I called the vet to be so friendly and come to my house
to give peace to my loved Felix, the ginger cat.
He got about 11 years old from which he lived about 7 with me and my
other cats. He moved in from the neighbourhood.
Felix was 6 month ago diagnosed with FIV - the feline immune...

Thank you all, here is the latest.
When I phoned again to see how Kitty was, I was told she could come home!!
because she had eaten a good meal, her temperature had returned to normal
and they thought she would be happier in her own surroundings. I have

OT - VERY "Private" Stuff/Rant by
CatNipped[_2_]
I know it's foolish to put private, embarrassing issues on a world-wide
medium. But I don't have any friends here in Houston (in spite of being
here for 20 years). It might not come across in my posts, but I am
*extremely* shy and find it almost impossible to find any RL friends.
Anyway, if...

OT - Recognize These Symptoms? by
Enfilade
I'm going to the doctor tomorrow or the day after (I'm working three
insane shifts: 12 pm to 8 pm, 11 pm to 6:30 am, and 7:15 to 1 pm -
close to 24 hours straight of awake working.)
I can't find any info on the net: I don't even know what to search
for. Anyone here have an idea?

Revolution w/o prescription? by
Pat[_4_]
Frontline has quit working for us. No effect at all. No, it's not out of
date. Maybe the fleas became immune.
Is it possible to get Revolution with no prescription? If so, where? I can't
afford both the meds AND a vet visit for all nine cats... and no vet will
prescribe Revolution for large...

Bitty Report by
Tanada
Pine Cone has been lounging outside the door to Mandy's room. I suspect
the little stinker has been scouting the bitties for positions on the
"Mouser." (I have. PC esq.) He's also been putting the rest of the
cats through their paces in preparation for this year's cruise.
When one walks into...

[OT] Hypnosis Anyone? by
CatNipped[_2_]
Has anyone here had experience with a hypnotist? I'm trying to talk DH into
going to one in order to help him quit smoking without gaining weight. I'd
like to be able to relate some success stories to him to help him make the
decision to spend the bucks it takes ($1,600 for 14 session - once a...

Tragedy purrs needed by
Dan M
Here in southern California we've had to deal with a rash of brush fires
over the last year. The latest one erupted last night, southwest of the
city of Cabazon. Now, less than 24 hours later, it has grown to more
than 10000 acres. We have very high sustained winds whipping and driving

Indoor-only cats by
Joy
Does everybody who has indoor-only cats still get them all their shots?
I just got a card saying that Koala will be due for an FVRC-P shot next
month. Neither of my cats even shows an interest in going outside, and
nobody ever brings animals here.
Koala has finally gotten to the point where he...

Oops by

OK, in Sammy's defense she doesn't ever see me take a bath. I have a huge
shower stall in my bathroom downstairs but no bathtub. Whenever I take a
shower Sammy waits patiently on the rug under the toilet until I'm finished
acting insanely and come out to dry off and pay attention to her...

AARRGGGHHHH! I couldn't make an appointment with the new vet because of the
hours I and my DH work (I can't take any more time off work or I'll be in
big trouble, same with DH), so we had to take her back to the vet who did
the spay...

Rainy roadtrip to Cambodia - OT by
badwilson
So the company that Dennis works for is refusing to renew our Thai visas.
They say that Dennis works in Burma now and it's not their problem that we
live in Thailand. Technically it's true but do they have to be such jerks
about it?
Anyway, my visa expires on Sunday, so yesterday I drove to the...

Cheeky's story - long by
Lois Reay
Cheeky was born one of four kittens to a wild cat on a industrial estate
where my partner Ken works, they lived in the long grass and under a disused
old shed, they were very skittish and frightened of people but hunger bought
them out of hiding.
Ken would take food to work for them and also...

no more dry cat food? by
yepp
Took Bonnie in for her follow-up vet visit today and the vet tells me
I should get my cats off dry food entirely and switch to canned or a
raw food diet. Turns out the vets have been wrong for the last 30
years or more and now recommend a canned only diet. What? When did
this movement start?

Had to share this portrait like pic I managed to snap of Laku sitting by
the window:

I have a big version of that pic as my computer wallpaper. His eyes are
green this time, but sometimes they're yellow and sometimes close to a
coppery hue.
