Best Litter Box I've Found by
cybercat
Gracie is good about her box, there is just the usual kicking out of litter
to contend with.
Boo is another story, she really spreads litter and sometimes forgos the
box. She is getting a little arthritic, from the way she walks, so it is
nice to have a low door to the box.
Anyway, the...

How Adult Adoptees Can Change Over Time by
cybercat
I love writing about my baby cat Gracie, not a baby at all but now about 7-8
years old. I adopted her when she was 1-2 years old, so she has been here a
while. She was a pregnant young adult who had her kittens in the summer of
2001 and had been at the shelter for four months when I adopted...

I can't see a bunch of posts by
cybercat
Did a system restore and thought maybe my killfile reverted, but when I
looked in there I see no names that should not be in there.
So ... if I don't respond, I may not be ignoring you.
I just haven't mastered my newsreader yet.

Taking Hyperthyroid Cat off of Beta Blockers--Update by
cybercat
After the vet determined that her thyroid levels are still within normal
limits and have remained consistent now for several years, she did another
ultrasound and an EKG and the results show that there has been no change in
her heart in those years. (She had an ultrasound of her heart just after...

Boo has a breast lump by
cybercat
This is our tuxedo girl, age 13, hyperthyroid treated with Tapazole, and
arhythmia with propanolol. She was obese and age 5 when we got her, I got
her down to a good weight over a year's time a few years ago.
I picked her up this afternoon and felt it, looked closely (that went over
big, lol!)...

Brushing by
cybercat
Gracie has discovered the joys of the hairbrush, and has wrapped her
borderline OCD around it. Every time I make a move she is up on the big bed
waiting to be brushed. (I have to pass the master bedroom on the way out of
my office.) It is actually one of my old round brushes, with smooth plastic...

video--kittens fighting over mom's nipples by
cybercat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GjwZ89tfDY
This was in another group. Turn your sound up. The thing that killed me is
that my little Gracie, now 7 but a new Mom when I adopted her 5 years ago,
heard this and woke up from her nap to come peer around the room and cry,
looking for the babies!
The...

Pet Food Direct by
cybercat
Anybody else use them? They are really, really slow this time of year, maybe
because of the holidays. I put an order in on Dec. 6 and was just notified
yesterday that it had left their warehouse--a full week after placing the
order.
Is there a better cat food/supply source? Faster?

Scheduled Feedings--Unexpected Benefits by
cybercat
I've posted about my tuxedo cat Boo's dramatic weight loss and improved mood
and health since I put her on an all-canned diet in scheduled feedings every
12 hours, reducing the amount I fed her by 1/4 until she achieved her
desired weight.
An unexpected benefit is that I can pill her more easily...

Public Apology by
cybercat
I should not have called Barry a "knuckle-dragging piece of ****" just
because he let Jupiter get pregnant.
Barry is a brilliant man, a creative genius, and a loving, caring person.
Somewhere in there.
So I apologize.

Public Apology Retracted by
cybercat
Barry is indeed a knuckle-dragging, cat abusing piece of ****.
Hard as nails behind his "steppinfetchit" shuck-and-jive song and dance that
he thinks is so cute.
It works for a while, too. On a few of us.
But eventually, he shows his ugly face.
They alllll do.

Update: Treating Asthma and EGC by
cybercat
For the newcomers, I adopted a little gray tabby named Gracie, then about a
year old, from a shelter here in Raleigh in 2001. She had respiratory
distress, and when tested for heartworms, happily came up negative, but a
chest xray showed asthma. A little while later she had bumps on the backs of...
