Cat can't hold food in by
Mariebmk
Hello all! I have a 14 year old cat that got most of his teeth pulled
a few weeks ago. He was doing okay eating until a few days ago when he
pretty much stopped. He acts hungry, follows me around the kitchen
meowing, and runs ahead of me whenever I go to feed him excitedly, but
then tries to eat...

Digging in dirt, how to stop this? by
Juls
I brought in my houseplants last night because it's getting cool at
night. Dmitri used to try and eat the shamrocks and spider plants, so I
got those up and out of Jasmine's way quickly. (After she taste tested
both, and said "mmmm, I likey.")
The diffenbachia is another story. It's large, about...

Question about spaying by
DAdriano
Hello everyone...newbie here posting for the first time.
I was wondering: My 1 1/2 year old cat has been in heat for the last few
months, and unfortunately I cannot afford to fix her just yet. (I keep her
inside so there is no danger of her getting pregnant) I've heard that
females stay in heat...

Had to put our cat down this morning :( by
stonej
Early this morning our two-year old Maine Coon mix, Kenshin, started
making weird noises, gasping for breath and lost use of his two hind
legs. We rushed him to the Michigan State University Small Animal
Clinic where he was diagnosed as having congestive heart failure. We
already knew of the...

Jasmine (again) by
meee
Hi everyone...update on Jasmine...she's following me around constantly,
licking me (or biting, depending on her mood) and going through my cupboards
at odd hours of the night. So I'm expecting kittens soon. I'm setting up her
own room, so she can have privacy with the kittens, and trying to get...

Question about spaying (update) by
DAdriano
Thank you everyone for your posts. I'm planning on taking my kitty to the
Mobile Spay Station this month to get her fixed. I had actually taken her
the same time that I got my boy kitty fixed, but they ran out of
appointments right after they took him. So, I'm going to get there extra
early and...

cat offended by closed doors by
bookbug2005
Hi All,
I have a one year old neutered male cat who is totally offended by
closed doors. Due to our odd sleep schedules, we often nap in the
afternoon. When one of us lays down, we close the door because the
cat, Charley, is likely to come in and play around or talk. He's
really quite chatty. ...

Am I being selfish and unkind? by
Kate
Our little old boy (now 16 and a half) was diagnosed with
hyperthyroidism last January. Unfortunately, he also had underlying
CRF and when he was given medication for the hyperT his kidneys
couldn`t take it. We tried different drugs and dosages, but each time
he started vomiting and his BUN and...

My cat poops in my bathroom! by
Kristyn00 via CatKB.com
I have a female cat thats almost 2 years old and recently she has been
pooping in my bathroom. She has done it about 3 times, and its all around the
same spot. She has never done this before. She has had two litters of kittens,
I dont know if that would have anything to do with it. Or maybe I need...

Vaccine-related fibrosarcoma by
News Reader
Hi,
My otherwise healthy 8 year old cat was recently diagnosed with
vaccine-related fibrosarcoma (the vet believes it was the 3 year rabies
vaccination).
He has an appointment with the oncologist on Tuesday.
Can anyone give me some advice as to what questions to ask, what things
I should read up...

Squirrel Friend Shock. Lil guy is alive by
Brian Link
Okay, I feel really stupid now after getting all friggin worked up.
This morning was one of those mornings during mournings when you wake
up fine, then suddenly you remember the Horrible Thing that just
happened.
I went downstairs to start to work, and looked out the front window.
A small...

Abbey is camping out by
Candace
Her Uncle Henry (my mom's cat) never liked the very cute tent his mom
bought him so I brought it back to Phoenix with me. None of my 3 are
all that thrilled with it either but they will go in it if we throw
treats in there. However, the other morning Abbey was laying in there
of her own volition....

Is this wrong? by
Juls
When I first got Jazz, she started out in the bathroom (a large
bathroom) while I did the introduction to Jack. Now she's out 100
percent and she still goes into the bathroom to play. (She's fascinated
by the toilet and tub)
When she gets really revved up and out of control, I've put her in...

Jack and Jazz update by
Juls
Well Jazz and Jack continue to get to know one another. Jazz positively
adores Jack and won't leave him alone. He wasn't happy about it at
first, but he's getting used to her and tolerates it. Sometimes, he
even likes it. She's obsessed with his tail.
She's even given him a few head butts.
I'm...

Automatic Feeders & Waterers by
Cat Protector
I was wondering if anyone here has ever used those automatic feeders and
water dispensers for cats? I was thinking of getting a couple for my 3 cats
as I might be leaving for Las Vegas for a few days. I am considering a
sitter come in but don't know any I could trust as they would be strangers
to...

What do YOU do with strays in your neighborhood? by
Brian Link
There's a un-fixed tom wandering our neighborhood that gets our cats
all whipped up.
I've watched him for a few weeks and he's always run away. Tonight
though it's pretty cold here, and we saw him when we pulled into our
driveway. He meowed and came right up to be petted.
My guess is that he's...

How old to adopt a kitten by
Lee
Can a kitten of 6-8 weeks be successfully adopted and be a normal grown
cat?
I have heard that they must be at least 3 months old. Is this true.
How old to have them neutered.
Thanks
Lee
