ringworms by
Have a lovely affectionate INDOOR kitten named Nika. Only one real problem. Somehow, somewhere she picked up ringworms. I'm about ready to give up. Just when I think it's under control it seems to spread. Eschew Obfuscation.

Need some advice about newly fussy cat by sionevar
We have a seven year old male cat who has always had a very enthusiastic and non-fussy appetite. Until two months ago, he happily tore into any type of food we put down for him - dry or wet. Not long after we moved house, he started to refuse the dry food he had always loved. We switched to wet...

Needd Good Home for Cats by [email protected]
My family is very sad about this, but we must find new homes for our cats. My wife has developed allergies, that over the lastg three years have become so severe she is now on asthma medication. We can't bear the thought of our 'children' being euthanised at a local shelter. We found a no-kill...

Kinda Ot - Vacuum advice by KellyH
I really, really want to get a Dyson and I'm wondering if the expense is worth it. Right now, we have a cheap (~$150) Dirt Devil Breeze purchased a few years ago and it is just not cutting it. The house is a multi-level townhouse with old wall-to-wall carpet. The carpet will be replaced in about...

Starving Kitty...END OF THE ROAD - Last Chapter.. by David via CatKB.com
Well, Kitty really went downhill yesterday, Saturday...in the A.M. her left leg gave out..she was limping. Took her to the vet for her quartizone shot.. He watched her walk around, now she was more flat-footed. He said it was all related to the liver tumor, said that it was cancerous because if...

Happy Ending for Two Cats by Sethran
Thought I'd just post a quick message about how things turned out with the strays I've been working with. The little black and white guy with the severe URI went to a no kill shelter and was adopted two days later. The brown tabby with the degloved chin and FIV finally tested negative for FIV and...

Wierd black dots near mouth by Angela St.Aubin
I just noticed something strange on one of my cats. Along the top ridge of her mouth, on the outside, in the fur, but right next to her "lips" there are dozens of tiny black specs.. they look almost like blackheads. Any ideas of what they are, or if anything needs to be done?

Cat Sitting by Cat Protector
I was considering doing cat sitting to make some extra money this summer as well as get even more involved in helping cats. There appears to be a big need for it and with my love of cats I figured why not. What does everyone else think? It seems that doing stuff like this is getting to be the...

Cat in Danger on Balcony Ledge? by Rockinghorse Winner[_2_]
Martha, my 5 year old domestic long hair mix likes to hang out on the balcony, and specifically perched on the 4 inch ledge. The ledge she prefers is over concrete, about 12 feet to the ground. She is not calm while hanging out on the ledge, but restless, looking over the edge like she is...

dry run on having kittens by possum
last night the cat came inside crying, licking herself, wandering around, then went into a box in the closet I setup a month ago. As long as I sat there with her, talking to her, she was fairly calm. When I walked away she got anxious again, followed me around the house, crying. She finally calmed...

KILL ALL Fleas and Earmites in One Dose? Cost? by Doug Bashford
If I understand the ads, one dose of Revolution will likely get rid of all fleas and earmites in the house if all cats are treated simultainiously? Are there any other products that will do this? Is this expensive? ...Like how much? Are there any safe flea collers for inside cats??

Need help choosing new cat by Wayne
My wife and I are retired and our cat recently died and we want to get another. We have had several in the past years and we really want an affectionate cat that will sit on our laps while we watch TV or read. Not all cats will do this, some are friendly but skittish and will not sit on your lap...

Cat Hostile to Friend After Neuter. Why? UPDATE by Robyn
Hi, just wanted to post an update to my post from last week for those that are interested. I still think it's really weird.. Anyway, Squidly did finally quit hissing at Froggy, although I was starting to wonder. So we do have peace and everyone is getting along. However, I don't think these two...

Mystery of the Fuzzy Cat Toy by [email protected]
My 4-year old male cat has a mysterious habit. Every once in a while he'll start meowing incessantly as he carries this long furry cat toy throughout the house. The cat toy is one of those whip kind of toys, resembling a fuzzy 3' piece of material attached to a stick like a fishing pole. He'll...

Kitten intestinal noises? by KellyH
I have a litter of foster kittens, about 8-9 weeks old. I was just upstairs playing with them, and one of the kittens was making all these digestive noises, like gurgling sounds. I looked to see if he had anything leaking out of his butt, didn't see anything. He was playing and acting normal. ...

Recommendations on cordless clippers. by Jacques E. Bouchard
I'm looking for recommendations on a good cordless clipper to cut the hair of a (very impatient) cat. He has very thick fur and must be trimmed once or twice a year (especially for the summer months), but he's fidgety and won't stand still for two minutes without throwing a tantrum. For that...

Worming pill only administered by vet? by T. Early
Our vet, after already diagnosing the issue during an office visit, has told us that it is "policy" that worming pills only be given by their staff in-house ($20 per pill per cat). We have two cats, both of which are, to say the least, not happy about being carted off to the vet and/or riding in...

Screaming in backyard last night - not cats by dgk
I woke at 2 am to some horrible screaming in the backyard. It sounded like a cat fight but it didn't sound like cats. I never heard anything like it before but it sounded like something was being killed. I didn't know if it was my yard or a neighbor and couldn't see anything. It went on for several...
