Cat upsetting water by mahlon
My one year old male cat is normal in all other ways except that he regulary upsets water out of his water bowl. When drinking he places a paw in the water and then "paddles" the water out of the bowl onto the floor. Why does he do this? How do I stop it? Any help would be appreciated. mahlon

how encourage cats onto cat-bed ? by Eddy[_2_]
Some of you might have been through this process before and might be able to save me a learning curve. Our two cats are very affectionate and although we leave them a warm living-room to sleep in at night, they nearly always follow us upstairs to a chilly bedroom at bedtime. As you may all have...

Toma won't allow the kitten.... by
Hi All, I thought that I could pick your brains for ideas on how I can get my 12 year old female cat to accept a spayed 5 month old kitty. The kitten is Pretty Girl (now known as Katie.). I have tried everything & Toma ( the 12 yr old.) won't even consider it. It's making me crazy! Any good ideas...

Re-covering a scratching post? by queenbee
Hi, does anyone have any advice on re-covering a scratching post? My cats (2) have a nice post that they adore. It's got an upright post covered in carpet, a slanted post covered in sisal, and a curved part on top they can lie in. I don't want to get them another post because a.) these posts are SO...

About Whiskers (my cat) by Whiskicat
Whiskers is a sort of killer cat. I love him. He is also nice to snuggle with when warm and purring! He is a frisky whiski when he runs around like he has ants in his pants. He meows when: He wants food He wants to go out He wants to come in He wants to play or he wants attention, which is usally...

Four-Legged Footprints lead their way to Wag Hotels.... by [email protected]
Elegant swimming pool, yummy food, spacious lobby and 24 x 7 service hours charmed me to Wag. My pet's too happy to see the other members around. I'd heard of Wag before but I wasn't motivated enough to try it out. But this video helped me decide that my dog goes to Wag Hotels & no more of...

Do Cats Hunt Squirrels? by Alley
Okay, this is what I'm hoping someone more knowledgable on cat nature can help me with. Do cats normally hunt squirrels? Interestingly, I wondered this out loud to my boyfriend just a few weeks before moving into our new place. Our new house is in an area populated by a TON of squirrels. I...

Daisy's Complicated Allergy/Meds Problem by sdavies6
My Daisy is a 4 year old Snowshoe Siamese. She lives in my small studio aprtment with her brother Mickey. Daisy is a timid cat and she often growls (deep gutteral growling) and hisses at Mickey. Sometimes he deserves it, as he throws her off the cat tree. Other times he is simply walking by...

Door Bungee by Ruby Tuesday
Hi folks, I bought my cat a door bungee (the bird one) a few months ago, and my Siamese has had a ball with it. He's taken it apart, so much so that I've had to re-tie the string around the bird, and the top part of the string around the plastic door holder part again. Well, earlier today my...

Adopted a Cat - Balcony Question by ChrisCoaster
We live on the 4th floor of our apartment building(technically the 5th because it is a drive-under). The apt has a sliding door accessing a balcony with a solid cinder-block rail - we're talking 8 inches thick here and about 42 inches high. Nothing is stacked within two feet of the rail and the...

Litterbox Training a Senior Cat by Marek Williams
I'm rescuing an old stray (Old George). When I first started with him he was almost feral. He wouldn't let anyone get near him and, if anyone did he would scratch, bite and hiss. It has taken me a couple months but I've gotten him to the point where he actually enjoys being petted. I let him in...

Question About Cat Behavior... by Writerosity
I know that cats hunch their backs, bristle their fur and spit when they are threatened by other animals, but my kitten likes to hunch his back when I'm petting him. Why does he do this, if this is behavior normally associated with fear? TIA Writerosity
