Seeking to add a female traditional balinese kitten to our family by
DC
We really loved our female seal point applehead balinese cat that we
recently lost to mammory cancer. We brought her home with us when she
was 8 weeks old and enjoyed her for the 15 years she was with us.
Because of our wonderful experience with her, we decided that we would
like another female...

need pics of ringworm by
DeAnna
Hold a 'blacklight' up to the area. Many (BUT NOT ALL) strains of ringworm 'fluoresce
(glow) under the blacklight.
Any areas 'denuded' of fur should be suspect. Ringworm is not a worm at all, but a fungus
that tends to grow in round patches. (Hence the misnomer).
Good luck. It IS contagious to...

About h0p - The End of The Story by
Dee
Some of you will remember me and h0p. h0p is my 12 1/2 year old former
feral cat who has been my heart and inspiration for these last many years.
It's my hope that in my lifetime I can show the bravery, courage, and
grace that he has shown in fighting a heart murmer, toxoplasmosis,...

Finding home for cats by
Dee Falt
Can someone provide some assistance on how to find a home for two
cats in the Houston area? This is for my son who provided the
following info:
Searching for a new home in the Houston area for two neutered black
cats. The cats are 7 year old litter mates (born approx. December
1996) named Punk...

Hello (+ question about neutering) by
DemoDisk
Hi, all:
I haven't posted to any of the .cats groups since we lost KitKat 3 years
ago, but now I have a question....
On the 25th of May we discovered on the back stoop a frightened little
kitten about 6 weeks old (said the vet). KitKat had taught us to obey, so
there was no question about taking...

Sergeant's 'Gold' : Okay for our cat? by
DemoDisk
PJ has been scratching lately, but I didn't know what brand of flea
treatment to get him. On the grocery run to Wal-Mart today, I found they
had 3 brands; Sergeant's (regular and 'gold' varieties), Hartz
(nightmare stories there), and another ("Nexxum" or something, about
$7.00 ).
Is the...

KITTY LITTER DUST by
Dennis
Just became a cat owner a few months ago and thought I had done all my
homework on the pros and cons of owning a cat, but there's always something
you miss. In my case, it's the dust from the kitty litter that has settled
over everything in my home. Is there anything that can be done to...

Staywell magnetic cat flap by
Dermuid
I thought I would up grade and bough a staywell 400 magnetised doodah with
authentic mouse ball collar, well let me tell you here and now that the
magnetic cat flap is useless.
The reason being is the magnetic collar part must come into contact with the
base of the cat flap for it to work otherwise...

Synulox, cat in distress. by
Dermuid
I have just given my cat synulox drops as perscribed by the vet, 1.25 ml
straight from the bottle, it has caused him to salivate quite badly and has
caused him some distress, does this mean he has had an allergic reaction?

My cat sprays in neighbors' houses by
Desperate
Help!
Went to a neighborhood event Sunday and learned, to my horror, that my
male, spayed, 4-5 year old cat has been spraying in 2 houses.
The 2 neighbors didn't bring up the matter; it just developed in
conversation. I feel absolutely SICK! Wish they had TOLD me!
Neighbor #1 says that my cat...

Cat started pooping on the floor by
Deuteros
I have a 7 year old male cat. He's had no behavior problems since
we've had him but about two or three weeks ago he started pooping on
the floor in random places. It doesn't seem like he does this every
time he has to go and he is still peeing in the box (as far as I can
tell). Other than that his...

Tri colored cats all female? by
dgk
I suppose I could check Google but I'm here so...
Someone at the cat show said that all tri-color (or tri-colour for my
British friends) cats are female, or, if male, are sterile.
Seems odd but he was showing his purebreds so maybe he knew what he
was talking about. Does white count as a color?

My cat likes knocking things over by
dgk
Espy (dsh, 1 1/2) is really driving me crazy. He likes reaching up
onto shelves, tables, whatever, and knocking anything near the edge
onto the floor. Pens, coins, small objects. Crash. Bang. I think he's
in the terrible twos early.
When not reaching up to knock things off, he climbs up and knocks...

Cats and Hot weather by
dgk
It looks like I'll be moving from New York City to Florida within two
months - assuming all goes well with the house sale. My three cats are
used to going into my fenced in backyard, but for a few months (at
least) they'll have to stay inside once we get to Florida. I won't
have a fenced in yard...
