UK question - pet insurance by
[email protected]
Can anyone give a run down on whether cat insurance in the UK for cats is
worthwhile? I suspect it is in case the cat is involved in a major
accident. But does it tend to cover minor ailments?
And any recommendations or warnings regarding companies would
be welcome.

Cat Escape, advice sought by
[email protected]
My cat escaped (indoors only, I live in a big city filled with strays).
Now gone three days. I'm hoping she's nearby. The last time she escaped
(a year ago) she was gone for 3 days, then i found her in a tree in our
small backyard. After that last incident, i rang a bell every time i
gave her tuna...

Hello and question by
Ball of Fluff
Hi,
I used to post to rec.pets.cats years ago. It appears that it's gone now
and that I have not kept up with the changes. I see there are several cat
newsgroups now including this one.
It's nice to be back. I used to post under a different handle- Claire or
John Swazey- and now have a new...

in how many countries is microchipping pets compulsory? by

In how many countries is microchipping pets compulsory?
So far, I know that it became compulsory in Israel a few years ago for
dogs to be microchipped (not so sure about all cats - the last I heard
was that if they are kept indoors the whole time, they don't have to be
microchipped, but this may...

New Outdoor Cat Enclosures by
Bandobi
Hi Everyone,
As you know, cats that roam freely outdoors are exposed to the dangers
of predators, cars, lawn fertilizers, etc. However, cats can enjoy
the sights and sounds of the outdoors in safety if they are given
access to an outdoor enclosure.
I own a small pet products business and we...

Litter flinging by
Barbara Byrd
Marco had become adept and flinging his litter across the laundry room to a
spectacular trajectory. I've tried getting him an enclosed litter box, but
he refuses to use it and just goes outside the entrance. I don't get it
because if I have a paper bag in the kitchen, you know who gets in...

cat stroller by
Barbara White
I've seen cat strollers advertised and am wondering whether people
here have tried them. (The strollers are like baby strollers but are
covered in a net so that the cats can't get out.)
I'm curious about these--do you or your cats have experience with them?

Kittens need home :-( by
[email protected]
Hello all,
My name is Brandon and my girlfriend and I have a little problem.
We've been trying desperately to spay and neuter all of our cats. We
have quite a few, and unfortunately, our last cat (Hunter) sneaked out
and got pregnant. Now we truly have more cats than we can afford to
take care of....

hairy lump! by
BC
While stroking my cat earlier i noticed that he had a clump of longer
hair sticking out of a lump of hard skin on the back of both of his
forelegs and was wondering if it was normal, as i have never noticed it
on a cat before.
Will try and explain its location;
If you look at his paws he has the...

Desperate for Advice on New Cat vs. Old Cat by
bchapp3182
I rescued a male tabby cat and he lives in my home with my two resident
females. I did everything by the book as to how to introduce them. Kept
him in the room for weeks, slow introductions. When they finally did meet
the male violently attacked my older female. Weeks later he attacked...

Looking at fostering primarily outdoor kitties by
Belinda Grainger
After having mostly indoor kitties most of my life I have decided to foster rescue kitties with a friend of mine. They are outside kitties (mostly) and will need safe outdoor space. I don't want to put them in a small cage or anything. I am looking at making it safe for them in our yard. Does...
