OT - Near Miss by
MaryL
I *almost* had an accident yesterday but fortunately escaped. I was on the
road, driving past Goodwill. A woman suddenly started backing out quickly,
headed straight for me, and it was obvious that she did not see me. I hit
the horn, and it would not honk, so I hit the accelerator and "just"...

Christmas starts here (if you're a cat) by
Lesley
Dave's mum always insists that she sends us some "scoff" for Xmas and
this year she's excelled herself with a hamper of all the things we
don't normally buy like cake and chocolate.....and best of all from
the Fabulous Furballs' point of view.....it came in a HUGE box! Dave
says they spent most of...

The Transfer by
Pat[_3_]
We picked Abelard up @ 7:30 this morning from the EVC and took him to
the Whetstone Clinic in Mountain Grove to continue his IV treatment.
He was sleepy when we arrived so I wrapped him in a small blanket and
put him inside my coat. We sat in the back seat of the car while Dave
drove.
As soon as...

The catnip talking by
Marina
Another one of those clever 'talking cat' videos - this time the cat is
on catnip. I love how this cat seems to chat all the time.

Ping - Sherry? by
CatNipped[_4_]
Has anyone heard from Sherry lately? I haven't seen her post since the
surgery and I'm beginning to be a bit worried.

"This is a silly question" by
Lesley
At least that's what one of my doctors said- the silly question was
"What are you getting your cats for Christmas?"
The difference between a cat person and a non-cat person is I didn't
think it was silly at all (DaNip for Dunzi, a couple of toys for Sarsi
and some ham being the answer) but he...

When you hear a cat crying... by
Pat[_3_]
In this house, one often hears long, loud, drawn-out meows that sort
of raise an alarm. When this happens, absent-minded fool that I am, I
start worrying that someone is in pain and start checking around for
the source. Usually - almost always - it will be Buzzy doing his
"thing" with another...

Yay Bonnie! by
Cheryl[_3_]
Bonnie has been picked on by Shamrock for many years. She was a feral
and Shamrock was her real first friend, but for some reason Shamrock
just doesn't like her. So he chased her down relentlessly and I kept
hoping she'd one day stick up for herself, even if it meant a cat fight
so the two...

Update on Abelard by
Pat[_3_]
I spoke with Dr. Gourley (the vet in Mountain Grove) around 5 pm. She
says Abelard's blood is pretty much back to normal - still just a tad
high in BUN (38) and low in RBC. The RBC was in the normal range
(7.2) when he was dehydrated.
I would guess that all the IV liquids have thinned his blood,...

VERY friendly cat... by
bastian74
While driving around residential areas on my motorcycle I spotted a cat chasing a squirrel up a tree. The squirrel turned around after a few feet to "face off" with the cat. I stopped the motorcycle and shut it off while I watched, but never got off the bike.
After about 15 seconds the cat saw...

Foiled again by
NettieCat
The cats are not allowed in the bedroom. The cats are not allowed on
the bed. The cats are not allowed on the pillows.
Yesterday I found Ripley and Annie in the bedroom, on the bed. It's
been very cold here, and they're fed up of being inside, so I cut them
some slack, and threw my dressing gown...

Espy's bad manners, my fault entirely by
dgk
Pat has a thread called Plain and Simple, about good manners by Baby
Eyes. I didn't want to exercise bad manners by bringing up Espy's bad
manners in such a positive thread, so I start this one.
Espy likes his Temptations. He REALLY likes his Temptations, to the
point where it's going beyond...

Plain and simple by
Pat[_3_]
Baby Eyes wants what her hoomins are eating, if it smells good to her.
But she never begs at the table. She sits off to the side, and if we
notice her staring at us, we might invite her to have a bite, and she
will gently take the tidbit from your fingers.
Her manner of actually asking for food is...

Okay, This is Weird by
jmcquown[_2_]
Since I've moved here Persia sleeps with me, yes. But she's never just
slept on the bed in the master bedroom unless I was in there, too. I was on
the phone with John and wondered where she was. She likes to sleep in the
guest bedroom. Lately she's been sleeping more often in her little...

Leaving cats alone? Please help by
Canna
I finally got a place of my own after years of sharing. I could have a
cat again! But when I went to the shelter I couldn't decide so I got the
two cats in the same cage as they got along and would miss each other.
They're 5 years old. I call the white one Bread and the orange one
Marmalade...
