screening adoptees.... by
[email protected]
Hi Kitty Group,
I just got a call for a pair of kittens that are ready to adopt out in
the PHX AZ area. I was not "wow-ed" by the caller, she said she may
possibly be declawing them in the future if they claw the furniture and
if they attack her future baby... Strike 1.... I suggested she read...

Pro Plan vs Fancy Feast? by
AlexZ
For somebody who has done a lot of staring at cans, I didn't notice
until today that both Pro Plan and Fancy Feast are Purina companies.
Since both are marketed as premium and are comparable in price, I was
wondering if one is regarded as better? Or is the same thing just
labeled differently?

Best way to convince kitty to eat wet food? by
Corey Kaye
While I'm waiting for Ginger's latest labs, we've switched from Royal Canin
Mature 27 to Royal Canin Renal LP. Her labs two or three weeks ago showed
elevated creatinine and BUN, so we're looking at CRF. Before the RC, she
had been eating Innova, which is quite high in protein and something...

Low-phosphorus cat food by
Charlie Wilkes
Is that the same as "urinary tract health" blends? When I first got
Tweaker, the vet said he had crystals in his urine and I was to feed
him special food for urinary tract issues. I have done so faithfully.
But he prefers the kibbles over canned food, so I now have a big bag
of Wal Mart "Special...

Cats and ribbon...healthy? by
Meranda Anne
Hi all,
My kitty has found new life. I received a gift from somebody that had
plain old 1/4" ribbon tied around it. While I was opening the gift, my
cat responded to it as any other string, batting at it. But, then I
started playing with him with it. He went absolutely crazy!!
I really think...

Cats and Colds by
Turtlecat
Hello! I just found this site today and it's so helpful and fun! Our cat is
Turtle--an adopted Torti who is almost 6 years old.
I know the subject of cats and colds has been talked about, but---How does a
cat catch a cold or URI when there are no other cats in the house, the cat is
an indoor...

CRF cat vomiting after fluids by
Corey Kaye
Ah, the joys of managing a CRF cat ;)
Ginger is on 100 cc's of Normosol-R sub-q twice a week. Approximately 10
minutes after fluids she vomits bile or a small amount of food and bile, 3
or 4 times.
I am experienced in administering fluids to felines--worked for a vet for
several years. I'm...

clavamox by

Hi, I'm currently going through quite a tough time with my nearly 9month old
cat, Jean-Luc. He's been to the vet, they've ran some tests, and they're
worried that he has a terminal case of FIP. Well, I'm giving him the
antibiotics Clavamox that the vet prescribed in the hopes that Jean-Luc has...

vomiting non eating cat by

Our 4 year old house cat has been vomiting and refusing food for almost
a week. After a couple of vet visits ruling out obstruction in her
digestive system and blood work ok our cat keeps refusing food and most
of the forced food keeps coming up till there is nothing but a clear
jelly-like...

Is Exercise Enough? by
CatNipped
I have one cat - a 16-year-old - who is at her proper weight; two cats - a
6-year-old and a 7-year-old - who are a bit underweight (healthy, just
petite); and one cat - a 2-year-old - who is about a pound or two
overweight. They all eat together and there is no way for me to feed them
separately*....

4 month old kit trying to nurse by
QuiltsWithCatFur
Well, he's nursing on his brother's fur and his spayed mother's tummy fur
where her nipls are.
Should I worry, separate them or will he grow out of it? Will this behavior
cause psychological illness in the poor host cat? The kitty/leech is not
stopped or dissuaded by either the host brother or...

Improper use of medicine may have killed my cat by
[email protected]
Hello all. I have a situation I'd like to know a bit more about.
Recently my cat, who has lived with my parents for the past 13 years
(because I lived first in a small apartment and then abroad) recently
stopped eating. My dad brought her to the vets and she was diagnosed
with toxoplasmosis. She...
