My hard-core feral female by
John Doe
My male cat "Kitty" is very gentle. The feral female "Kiki" has
been here for four years and two months, and is still untouchable
and still hisses at me from time to time. As shown on my picture
page, they have a Skyway that allows them to hang out above the
crowd. They love it. A week ago, I...

trapping ferals by
Ed Christie
There is a feral cat at the local waste disposal site that I use.
I have been feeding it in the hope that I will be able to bring it
home. Progress has been slow but steady until another person decided
to feed it. He just dumps kibble on the ground 2lbs at a time.
Needless to say the cat is no...

Water Fountain: How often should I clean it? by
Paul Enterline
I have one of those "Drinkwell" water fountains for my two cats. The
water passes through a fiberglass/charcoal filter, then out a spout
into a dish, and is then recirculated. I have to add about quart of
water every three days.
Question: How long can I go without changing the water and the...

Diagnosed Feline Fibroid Sarcoma by
berry
Our (approx.15-16) year old cat was diagnosed a couple of weeks ago
with the above at the top of his right hind leg. (or around there) Vet
said this is common in older cats. A vet partner more or less
confirmed the diagnosis. 6 months ago it didn't appear OR the vet
missed it. No biopsy was done...

Making an enclosure by
Hailey
Okay, I am going to start working on this pretty soon. I wondered if anyone
had any ideas.
We're going to make Tucker an enclosure and here is what we're thinking.
some kind of wire mesh, the bottom buried underground and then fastened on
both side of the *cage* with 2x4s. He will have a *ladder*...

aspirin for cat? by
Zippy
Our 16 mo. old male cat had his 1 year vaccination yesterday. He won't
eat & wants to sleep 24 hours/day.
Vet says give 1/2 a baby aspirin. I thought that aspirin was bad for
cats. Is it or not?

loss of appetite by
justaredhead
Hello, I'm new to this whole forum thing so bare with me....
About 2 days ago I noticed that my 1 year old cat, Roxanne, is not eating very well at all. She's only consuming about 1/2 a cup of food at most a day. I've tried mixing wet food with her normal cat food (Solid Gold), and just straight...

Petmate waterer leaks by
Catman
Very irritating: We use a Petmate waterer for our cats. The new one
which is now about 3 months old has started leaking just like the
previous one we finally replaced, due to a pump fail and the fact that
stores don't keep replacement pumps.
This can't be brain surgery... it seems there are but...

Hi all,
I need some hints on the best way handle the cat while cutting his
claws. He is still skiddish and still will not go near my husband - so
this will be a one lady job. :O)
Thanks

How to stop too many cats/kittens from driving you insane... by
John Doe
This is mainly for kittens. But my male cat enjoys chasing his tail,
so it might work well for him too. Currently, he needs the exercise.
I found a way to give my three kittens all the indoor exercise they
can handle. Basically, it's just extending their tail 6 or 8 inches
with a 1/4 inch thick...

In heat at ~4 months old by
Sharon Talbert
That's why we spay most of our kittens before they go out to their new
home. Find a vet who will spay her now, unless there are actual health
concerns (and not her age).
The youngest we've seen a kitten in heat was 3 months, soon after her
adoption. At that time, we weren't insisting on "early"...

A parallel universe by
Goat Roper
My cats will often, both while fighting with a piece of paper and when just
walking down the hall, look up at a bare wall and jump about two feet off
the floor and take off as if I had caught them stealing off the dinner
table.
It's like they saw something that startled them that was not visible...

cat's eating habits by

I have an 8-year old male cat who has been putting on some weight the
past few years. He weighed in at 14 pounds his last vet visit in April

initially adjusted well to his new diet, but since we moved a month ago
he has been...

DYI Feliway diffuser by

Hi,
I'm thinking of ordering some of the Feliway diffuser refills from US as
they're not available (yet) in Australia. Can anyone tell me if it would be
possible to empty the contents into the vial of one of the household
"Ambipur" type diffusers (ie the supposedly nice smelling things people...
