High glucose low temp by [email protected]
This same kind of post brought me to this message board. Some one else said that their cat had high blood sugar and low temp. And they were told that they need to check the labs again. Well, guess what...My cat has the same problem. I just spent all day at the emergency vet. My diabetic cat has a...

Do dog's farts smell worse than cat's farts? by [email protected]
Do dog's farts smell worse than cat's farts? Based on what I have experienced of cat's farts, all I can say is that I hope not. Scientific studies of farts show that cat's farts have a higher concentration of odor-causing gases than dog's farts, but dog's farts have a larger volume. The two...

Older Cat with a lot of new symptoms by Rachel
Well my baby went to the vet today. I was such a baby, I kept breaking down and crying. I tried to be strong for my boy but failed miserably. The vet was very kind and once made aware of my financial status kept costs as low as possible. You'ld be proud though I insisted on paying for the full...

Kitten Aggressive With Timid Adult Cat by Bernice
I have 3 cats: one female (Lucy, about 2 years old) and two males (Rascal, about 1 year old, and Socks, probably 3 years old). All were strays. Lucy was the first stray and she is very docile. Rascal has been with us about 6 mos. Finally, Socks was taken in about a month ago. They are all...

Effects of anesthetics by [email protected]
My cat was put to sleep yesterday. It all happened so fast. At the same time I'm not confident about certain decisions that were made by the veterinarian. I realise my investigations will not bring my cat back to life, but I'd like to clear some things up, and I need an independant objective...

I'm not sure about my current cat food. by lucy707
I just got a 7 week old kitten, and I am currently feeding her dry "Special Kitty" for kittens. Most people I know use it, and their cats are all healthy, but would it be better if I switched to a different food? Or is it alright if I continue using my current food. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

neo-poly-bac source by Larry Mehl
Hello -- Can I buy this from sources other than my vet? This product seems to be working on my male Burmese eye problem. The vet said to use it liberally 3 times per day; doing so makes it disappear fast. I would like to find a source selling it for less than the $18 per 3.5 gm

Advice on Behaviour by [email protected]
Hi I have two cats, who have just turned a year old. One is ginger and male (Tayla), the other black and female(Jet). Over the last few weeks, Jet has started too become harder and harder to get in a night, which has resulted in both of them being out all night, as they're very close and I...

Best cat food out there??????? opinions please by The Donkey
Hi, I was wondering what the consesus is on the "best" cat food. I feed my cats Eukanuba Lamb and Rice dry food, with additional goodies here and there. Is there a "best" dry food out there? Is canned food really better? If so, which one? I have been looking into the "raw meat" options - not...

Auto Feeder Recommendations?? by [email protected]
Hi All, My little guy is not on of those cats I can just leave food out for. He gets fed a 1/4 cup in the am and 1/4 cup in the pm. So now we are talking about going on vacation. I have a friend who is willing to come over once a day, but if I could avoid that and make it every other day it...

When is it "time"? by Brucefan
One of our cats seems like she's going downhill....she's 16 years old. For the past 2 months or so, she has trouble walking around, her back legs just seem to give out and sometimes her head just starts twitching uncontrollably...then she'll howl and try to walk but just stumbles and falls. She...

Under Rear Fur by Steve Giannoni
Altered male, just over 10 months old, has a profusion of extra fur and loose skin on his rear underside, between and forward from his hind legs; kind of hangs down, like if he was a cow, then there you'd milk him but a bit more forward. Otherwise, apparently healthy, happy, and beautiful. Any...

Dog scares my cats by svu geek
I need an opinion on something. The person I live with has a dog that he keeps tied up on a chain (bad, I know) in a pen with a doghouse. Recently, the guy keeps tying his dog up in the yard rather than in the pen. Even though that annoys me (I'd rather not see or hear the dog) I understand the...
