Heart murmur, x-ray normal by
yngver
Last summer we brought our 9 year old cat in to the vet because she
was having trouble climbing stairs and jumping up to her favorite
spots. At the time of the exam, the vet said he thought he heard a
very faint heart murmur. He thought it was insignificant, but since he
was doing x-rays of her...

Spray smell but doesn't linger by
IshmaelDS
I just recently rescued a cat from our local SPCA. The cat was just
neutured, he is about 1 year old and i don't know his history. We
brought him home last night and he has since started to smell
faintly(to me at least my wife says strongly). It smells like he
sprayed but the smell goes away...

Once the novel was finished, I decided, what the heck, I might as well try t
o sell it. This was not particularly successful. The agents I shopped it to
liked the writing, but said humorous SF was hard place; the publishers liked
the writing but said humorous SF was hard to sell. I wasn't terribly...

Kitty Better! by
LauraM[_2_]
Thanks to those of you who responded to my post several days ago. My
kitty, Hobbes, had two enemas a few days ago and is now finally
passing proper stools and eating without throwing up. I have tossed
out the artificial plant he chewed up, so hopefully we won't have a
reoccurrence.
It's a scarey...

behavior change by
Mrschief44
I adopted 2 female cats from the shelter, Hannah B a 2 yr old spay female and
the other, Sara a 7 week old female(now about 5 months old). They got along
wonderfully, slept together and Hannah B was always grooming the baby and they
played all the time. Last night we had to take Hannah B to the...

Update on Eli by
Gary Woods
There was one query last week, which I can't find.
Eli is the 14 year old black cat who suddenly stopped eating.
Vet cleaned teeth, did all manner of blood tests and X-rays.
He's in good humor, affectionate, but just won't eat. S.O. gets him to lap
up a little Boost, and sometimes lick some beef...

PING Phil - Really sick kitten by
Wendy
Sunday morning I went in to take care of my fosters and I noticed one of
them was just laying in the bottom of the playpen and there was a lot of
bloody diarrhea in the litter box and vomit on the towels. Her temperature
was so low that she felt cool to the touch. Her two sisters, who share...

What should I do when my cat does this? by
Garret Swayne
You know how sometimes cats get into a respiratory spasming thing like
they're trying to clear something from their throat (a hairball or
something??) I don't know what to call it. It's very rhythmic, and it
appears to be involuntary, like they're choking on something and they're
trying to...

Need help identifying growth on cat's paws by
wmarcello
Our cat Tux is just shy of a year old. For quite a few months now we
have noticed a claw-like growth on his paws. It doesn't seem to be
causing him pain, so we haven't been in a rush to take him to the
vet. However, it has been getting a little bigger over the months,
and one of the growths look...

Judging a good cat sitter by
in Chicago - North via CatKB.com
Any suggestions about how to judge whether a cat sitter is good or not?
I've interviewed a few, they seem nice. One does it after work, the other
is full time, plus she has references (but how can you trust those). They
both made cooing noises with cat and seem fine -
I just saw baby-sitters...

Preventing a catfight? by
Brian Link
Our newest cat, Chloe, has more or less been integrated into the
household. It's not the outcome I would have wanted - she and the
other cats keep their distance - but there's no killing. Well, not
much.
Chloe has always had some behavioral problems, possibly related to her
declawing. 90% of the...

cat going into heat by
Luvskats00
Laila
writes
i am not sure what the behavior of a cat going into heat is...i haven't had
the time to take her
to the vet to be spayed, but i am calling the ASPCA tomorrow! i can't
afford the $200-$500 procedure.
That sounds like an absurd (inflated) price for a spay....
