Persia RB 8/8/2014 by
jmcquown[_2_]
It was as I feared. Her kidneys were too far gone. So I made the
painful decision; Persia went to the bridge this afternoon.
The vet gave me a little heart shaped stone "memory box" with some of
her fur in it. She will be cremated and her ashes returned to me.
Heartfelt thanks to all of you...

Sweetie Pie needs some purrs by
Mike Mayers
She vomited in the litter box on Sunday and hasn't eaten since then. I took her to the vet this morning after chasing her around the house for over half an hour. She got an antibiotic shot and 100cc of saline solution for dehydration. I took her home with a bottle of medicine to give her twice...

Not a good week! by
Dan M
Boy, has this been a week! I found out that someone else got the
computer tech job that I had been REALLY looking forward to. Nancy
called HR at her employer's home newspaper about a job she'd like to
move to, and has still not gotten a call back (but she's still
applying). I've been pulling...

Poor Frank. by
Sherry
Frank has been fighting, has gotten an abscess on his side/shoulder. I took him
to T.E.D. this afternoon, just expecting him to clean it, give us antiobiotic
and send us on our way. Instead, he wanted to sedate him to debride it more
thoroughly and probably put a drain in it. So he stayed. I wish...

Bird Feathers in the shower by
Wulfdog
Anyone wake up in the morning or come home to bird feathers in the shower,
or worse yet bird beaks, legs, feathers and guts on the carpet? Our cats
are the best fed cats in Oklahoma, but they still love to have a good ole'
bird murder weekly. We sometimes catch them and pry the bird out of...

Another copy-cat by
[email protected]
I love how cats imitate the positions of those (other felines, humans,
dogs, whomever) around them:

I have discovered by
Granby
I have discovered that putting someone in KF does no good, they just keep
showing on other posts of people I read.
I just wish we could drop some of the stuff and move on back to our "family"
type caring. Yeah, I know old lady wants harmony and life isn't like that.

Neighbors cat is trying to move in by
Lord Bergamot
For several weeks she's been coming in, eating, sleeping,
playing. My cats have accepted her into the pack.
Her owner put a collar on her so I know she's not a stray. She's
a nice cat, about the same age as Hondo. She's getting about the
age to go into heat. I've started locking her out of the...

A Needy Siamese Cat by
Jo Firey
Siamese cats are not by nature a needy animal. They are aloof. Masters of
all they survey. They may permit scritches if it makes us happy and they
may even share the occasional purr. Physical closeness is also permitted
and everyone knows shared body heat is a good thing.
And of course an...

Why are my cats so small? by
Christina Websell
I have read posts about cats on the group that are often 14 lbs up to in the
20's, particularly USA cats.
Compared with this, mine are miniscule. Boyfriend is around 7-8 pounds and
KFC is 4ish. They both have access to all the gooshy and dry food that they
might want and catch and eat der birdies...

OT Purrs for Mosey please by
Kyla =^. .^=
Can I please have some purrs for Mosey? We're taking him to TED in about an
hour. Poor baby just isn't feeling good and we have alot of stress going on
here, and I pray he's okay. His teeth seem to be doing okay, but he's just
not feeling good. I'm worried about my cute little guy and we...

How does he know? by
Howard Berkowitz
The other two, with minimum complaint, accept flea collars. Ding shook
his off within minutes last season. Tonight, all I did was unroll the
thing, as he was enjoying the lap scratching (and I was not enjoying
grooming out the fleabits)...BOOM....struggle.
He just wanted to get away, and clearly...

Fez and Rufous are officially adopted! by
Victor M. Martinez
I was running errands and decided to stop at the humane society and
formalize our adoption of the boys. They were checking in a momma cat with
3 (or 4?) kittens, about 3 weeks old. Somebody dumped them at the pound,
where they would've been euthanized, but the folks at the SPCA go there
twice a...

Kitty Farmcat is not very well by
Christina Websell
She started sneezing a few days ago, I didn't think anything of it at first
but now there is green gunk coming down one nostril.
She hasn't eaten this evening and is hugging the fire. I guess she can't
smell her food and feels poorly.
She has CRF and cannot afford to not eat. She has never...

Losing Fur by
Cheryl[_6_]
Kerry, my newish cat, seems to be lacking fur on part of her belly near
the back legs. I only just noticed - she loves being petted, but like
many cats, she takes exception to belly-rubs so I hadn't looked at her
belly in quite a while. I have an appointment with the vet for her
tomorrow - I...

OT. Am I being a grouch? by
Jofirey
Well, yes of course I am. But some days there is just so much
provocation.
Junk email is bad enough. I figure TV advertising is the price I
pay for the programming on TV, and at least junk mail costs the
sender something and helps to support the post office.
But junk email is just too...

RIP Grandcat by

Orion had to be PTS. About a year and a half ago he was diagnosed with
vaccination-associated sarcoma cancer. He received chemo, which slowed
down the progression but unfortunately it continued to spread. The
last year he seemed largely unaffected (except for the appearance of a
large lump on his...
