Protein to fats ratio; phosphorus% by
Kiran
What is the ideal ratio proteins and fats in a cats diet? What about
Phosphorous?
To take one example, Fancy Feast chopped grill feast that my cat loves:
According to http://webpages.charter.net/katkarma/canfood.htm
Protein= 51%, Fat= 35%,
Phosporous= 1.55%.
all presumably by weight.

Declawing by
JR
There has been and still is a lot of controversy over declawing. Some
vets say it is okay, others
contend that there are many problems associated with declawing.
After reading about this subject, I can say that it is not something
that I wish to put
my cats through. I came across a good resource...

cats + plastic bags by
Elizabeth Blake
I'm not talking about shopping bags. I know cats can get in trouble with
those and I always put them away when I bring something home in one. I'm
talking about food stored in plastic bags. Isaac is insane over any food
product I stupidly leave out if it's in plastic. I'm not sure if...

My cat tries to hump me by
Jeff Schwarz
How do I keep my neutered cat (yes, he's neutered), from trying to hump me.
He must still have enough testosterone from organs other than his testes
(which are really gone, I've checked!) to make him horny and he tries to
hump me.
I can't spray him because the spray bottle isn't always handy when...

Another use for cat litter by
dgk
My car got flooded in a parking lot when we had torrential rains two
weeks ago. Nothing too major but there was about three inches of water
on the floor of the driver side and enough on the passenger side to
kill the computer (another story). It's 15 years old but I'd like to
keep it a bit...

Rhode Island passes "spay it or pay it" law by
MaryL
Rhode Island has passed a law requiring cat owners to spay or neuter their
pets. Owners with pets over 6 months of age will be required to pay a fee
of $100 for a breeder's license and can be fined $75 per month. Subsidies
are available for low-income pet owners, and farmers are exempt.

Cat Luxating Patella: incision area by
[email protected]
Hi,
Our cat has had surgery for a knee injury and seems to be recovering
well (story below). Her incision area looks flush to the skin when
she's sitting but it bulges out a bit when she's standing. Is this
normal? should we be concerned about an infection? Our cat is not
currently taking any...

Caring for your cat by
Sarah Pritchard
Looking After Your Cat
The cat is rather an enigma. Just as the lion is the king of the jungle, domestic cats are servants to no-one. Having said that , cats can be very affectionate companions if we, their human pets meet the cats’ simple needs.
The cat is not a pack animal and so does not...
