Yeast Infection in Ears by
Stacey
My 8 month old kitten has a yeast infection in his ears. This is the second
time he's gotten it. I would like to clean his ears so the drops are more
effective. Does any one have suggestions for cleans his ears and preventing
the infection?
Thank you,
Stacey

Finally Caught One by
Hailey
Well, with major help from a friend at our shelter, we FINALLY caught one of
the two ferals. After weeks we did not catch either one of em on our own. He
caught a male, who turns out to be neutered. We don't know the sex of the
other cat, but it has a sweet girly face *LOL*
Anyway, even our friend...

enlarged kidneys by
Nikki
Hello,
My 15 year old cat started losing her appetite suddenly and
consequently weight. She stopped jumping on the windowsills and hid
most of the day. I took her to the vets and they said her CBC showed
that just her liver numbers was a bit elevated. All else OK. She
still didn't want to eat...

Kdney stones question? by
Chris
My Mainecoon cat has been diagnosed with kidney stones. I was hoping
to get some feedback from other cat owners who have expierienced this.
What treatment did you seek? Was surgery involved? A change in diet?
My vet says he is a time bomb waiting to explode. He said there is
really nothing he can...

youKnowme
My cat goes outside everyday. He does smell a bit 'raw' sometimes. I was
wondering is there anything that i can put on his fur to make him smell
better? I am worried about putting 'talcon powder' on him in case it poisens
him when he cleans his skin.
should i even try to change the natuaral fur...

Cats peeing outside the litter box--what's worked for you? by
Corey Kaye
Hey everyone,
This is my first post to this group, and I'm hoping some of you have some
ideas to help solve this problem.
I have five cats, all females, all spayed. Ages range from 7 to not quite a
year. They all eat Innova low calorie dry food, except for the
eldest--she's on z/d to manage her...

our cat keeps scratching by
Corey
My wife and I need some advice on what is going on with one of our two cats.
For some reason she keeps scratching her neck and face. We cut her nails
every two weeks and I used a flea comb on her last night which came up
negative to everything but little white hairs.
The problem is that she...

Frequent, Watery Vomiting by
MaryL.
My cat for a few days now has been vomiting a few times a day, and of
course manages to always get it onto furniture, rugs, etc, even though
most of the house is wood floors....argh!
On a more serious note, though, the vomit is not "regular"
vomiting...he usually produces a little pool of watery...

Back to the vet - probably by
Wendy
Last night I noticed a pink spot at one of the incision sites on Boots.
There was no bleeding or oozing just pink tissue showing. This morning the
tissue protruding from the scrotum. I thought the incision would be healed
by this time (a week after surgery). Boots doesn't seem to care but...

Shame, shame AOL... by
-L. :
Ok, so we all know AOL sucks, but in their trailer for the new
Garfield movie, they have a link that says "search for cute kittens to
adopt". Nothing like promoting spur-of-the moment impulse
adoptions...I only hope it links to reputable sources - I didn't look.

Feline Pine cat litter - how best to transition? by
kaeli
Hey all,
I'm wanting to switch cat litters to that Feline Pine because of Rowan's
being so sensitive to the dust from conventional litter these days.
The thing is, they all despise the texture of the FP. I did what the bag
said and put one inch on the bottom of the pan and 3 inches of...

FVR-CP Vaccination: Only Annual? by
Caroline
Hello,
My little cat is seeing the vet for his FVR-CP (distemper etc.) shot this week.
I asked the vet assistant if there was a "three-year" version of it, as I now
get him the three-year rabies shot. She said, no, not to her knowledge.
I have no idea whether an FVR-CP vaccination lasting more...

I actually had a neighbor use my Usenet a lot because his ISP didn't

If someone hopped on and used my computer under my password to post to usenet,
the signature woudl still be "Candace" cuz it's set up to automatically post
that way. I...

Help - Husband With Allergies? by
Mary
My husband swears he's allergic to my two babies. I have my doubts,
though, because he also sneezes and has a stuffy nose hours or days
after he's been around them. For example, when we were away in
Europe, he was still sneezing two weeks after not being around any
cats. When he's at work, he's...

Cats chewing houseplant leaves - please advise by
Threnody
We recently combined out home with that of my father-in-law. He lost his
wife to cancer in August and has a few health issues of his own that are
worrisome. His two cats and our two cats are being very good about
things, although they're still a bit territorial and the random bit of
hissing still...

Peewee update - knocking on wood by
-L. :
Thanks to those who have followed my boy's trials and tribulations
over the past months - I have been meaning to post - he's doing
wonderfully! Back to original weight, eating like a pig, no hairball
issues currently. He's still got something weird going on with his
stool - not sure he doesn't...

Inconclusive test results??? by
Nightstar
Hi,
My 14-year-old cat (male, neutered), Pop, started urinating in various
places around my home. On towels, throw rugs, carpet, shoes... When
I saw blood in his urine I took him to the vet. He was treated with
Clavamox and seemed to be a little better. I asked the vet for
another course of...
