Email From Somebody Claiming to Be Me by
CatNipped[_4_]
I was just informed by another poster here that someone, using my name
but with a return email that bounced, sent them an email begging for
money to supposedly pay for a vet fee. I'm would have hoped that those
who have known me well here for years now knows that I have NEVER asked
for money...

Donations to Animal Shelters by
jmcquown[_2_]
Yesterday I finally emptied the linen closet. I know I talked about doing
this earlier in the year but I never could actually bring myself to do it.
The Beaufort County Animal Shelter says they need donations of blankets,
towels and washcloths. I've got a whole pile of them to donate.
I'm...

Need help pilling cat! by
Cheryl

Well, I have to give Smudge antibiotics (flagyl), and I guess it
must
be foul-tasting stuff because the vet gave me little empty gel
capsules
to put the pill in first.
Flagyl *is* nasty tasting...

Mooch's world-wide fan club by
Bobcat
Several times I've posted here at RPCA about the adventures of Mooch,
our little tuxie resident stray who shows up regularly on our veranda
for meals (see the most recent thread, "Mooch gets friendly". Someone
nicknamed "Treeline has asked several questions about him, and then
today "Lesley" in the...

Christmas can be Dangerous by
jmcquown[_2_]
I can't have any sort of plant-like things in my house, otherwise Buffy
tries to eat them.
Well, I found a (new in the wrapper) scented Christmas candle in the
hall closet. I guess it belonged to my mother. I'm not a candle person
by any means. It had a decoration of fake holly with fake...

Back, sorta, with snippets (long) by
LOL
Real Life has swallowed me whole lately, but we have been sending
purrs out into the aether to be distributed as needed by the
mothership, and will continue to do so.
Hubert has decided that dishtowels do not belong on the oven door.
They just don't. He's very businesslike about it; he'll walk...

Amber RB by
---MIKE---
About 2:00 this afternoon Amber started twitching her legs. I made a
vet appointment for 3:45. When I put her in the carrier she had stopped
breathing. The vet tech confirmed that she was gone. I left her to be
cremated. I'm glad that she died peacefully. She left a big hole in my
heart. We...

Another forward by
Nanny
As I'm at the other end of the world the only thing I can do is forward news
about Katrina's victims I get on groups or lists to other groups and lists.
Hope you don't mind.

The best cat game ever by
JP Hobbs
Good game O J, when I go into the bedroom at night
ready for bed Wilson beats me in ready for a game,
he crouches down on the bed, bottom wiggling
chin tucked in, Ihave to toss toys to him, but they have
to go upright over his head and over the other side so
he has to jump high for them, if they...

Perfect Sunday Morning (long) by
Steve Touchstone
Got up early this morning, well at least early for a Sunday. Even
after 10 years after retirement from the Army, I still wake up about 5
most mornings. Most of the time I just turn over and go back to sleep,
but this morning Sammy noticed me awake and decided it was a perfect
time for some quality...

What a stitch. I have been locked up with people who are saner than
this guy. The post really isn't what it appears from the subject
heading. It is the delusions of someone who isn't on their medication
at the moment. I'm not saying to laugh at the guy, but it is an
incredible insight into just...

Morning routines by
---MIKE---
Amber and Tiger are creatures of habit. They have a series of morning
routines that rarely changes. When I get up I tell Amber to wait on the
bed for her hug (she usually sleeps on my bed). I go upstairs (that's
where the living room/kitchen is) and Tiger meets me at the top of the
stairs. ...

my log-on message by

When I log onto my email account, I always get a little message -
sometimes humorous, sometimes meaningful, sometimes just bizarre.
It's from a little program called "fortune" - ie, it's like a
Chinese fortune cookie.
Anyway, when I just logged on just now, here's the little fortune
message I...

A favor (OT) by

I'd like to ask a favor of posters here. Several times lately, someone has
mentioned their weather. I have a hard time remembering where people live.
When mentioning weather, it would be kind to those of us who aren't as young
as we used to be if you'd give a clue as to approximately where you...

Sleepy cat by
Dan Mahoney
My brother's elderly Siamese kitty Samantha has always been fond of
sleeping, and it's not unusual for her to stay in bed for 12 hours at
a time. But yesterday and today things hit a new peak.
Yesterday Samantha spent all day sleeping on the front porch. This
morning the county animal control guy...
