Living Hell by ---MIKE---
Philip Meech asked: If we were to upgrade to three litter boxes, would those be side by side or distributed around our small house? If you really want to solve the problem, you should have SIX litter boxes. I would try distributing them around the house. I have two cats and three litter...

A cat's testicle, as understood by women.... by IBen Getiner
Sheelag said..... There is no mutilation involved here. The cat is made comfortable, sedated whilst the procedure goes ahead, & pain meds are available should the cat require them. But what of reality...? What of Poor old Ringo?! He was just minding his own...

Sneezing Cat and Watery Eyes by PatriciaLeppla
My cat has been sneezing a lot the past few days and I have also noticed that it looks like he has been crying from one eye only, but I do not see any inflimation in the eye or any discharge (except the clear tears). He's seems a little bit more tired and has been sleeping in different positions...

Things I learned from 10,000 cats by Richard Evans
A Popular Science article from 1934: http://blog.modernmechanix.com/2007/08/01/things-i-learned-from-ten-thousand-cats/ One quote: "The old idea was that every animal should be punished when caught in a wrongful act, but cats do not understand the meaning of a whipping. They are weak-willed and...

My cat is jittery while drinking water by Dennis
Is this common for cats? While he's eating, I can reach right out and pet him, but if I walk by while he's drinking, he stops and waits until he's sure I'm gone -- Dennis

Cat Emergency by Cat Protector
This morning I had to take my cat Icarus to the vet because he was throwing up a lot and wasn't able to urinate in the litterbox. Apparently despite the treatment of antibiotics he got blocked and the vet said he definately had a bit of a backup and 8 hours longer and he might not have made it....

My cat has been acting scared/angry at his own tail for the past 12+ hours. It started when my in-laws came for a visit (3 kids included) last night. These 5 people have all been over before and our cat has never had a problem. After they were over for about 2 hours, the cat started growling and...

Does my older cat have a nerve disorder? by James Egan
My female cat Stormy is almost 17 years old. When she sits next to me on my desk, she sometimes lurches forward like she's loosing her balance, then catches herself. I can feel the thumping of her feet on my desk. Actually, it's happening as I type this. I just noticed that if I hug her, the...

Electronic cat doors that lock both ways by [email protected]
Does anyone know if someone makes a cat door that requires a magnetic/ RF collar to open it for both coming in and going out? We have four indoor cats and one 1/2 wild mostly-outdoor cat who came with the house. We spent the last couple month teaching her to come inside to eat and now we'd like...

check for cats under the hood by John Doe
Just in case it hasn't been mentioned this winter. In the morning, don't forget to give your car hood a pat and then listen (or however it's done best, other suggestions are welcome). Cats have been known to find warmth inside of a car engine compartment. I know a guy that drove to work hearing...
