You have a right to your opinion, *but* how much do you know about cats and
chemotherapy & remission?
My question is: why the heck are cats getting cancer these days? This
doesn't seem...

Suspected broken tail by
Damian Fletcher via CatKB.com
Hi I would really appreciate any advice.
My cat Missy came in the house Tuesday evening and we noticed she had a
small cut under her eye. We cleaned this up and thought she must have been
in a minor scrape with another cat. Last night she fell asleep at the foot
of our bed (fairly unusual) and she...

My first trip to the Humane Society (LONG) by
Dan
My sweet Ariel, who adopted me in April of 1990, passed away this weekend.
Even after just a few days without, I knew I needed to find a new kitty. I
decided to pay my first visit to the local Humane Society (Champaign, IL
pop.150,000). I'd heard and read various and sundry things about the...

Resident female cat does not accept new kitten Help!!!!! by
Dan Coleman
My wife and I have an almost 5 year old neutered male cat and a just over 3
year old spayed female cat. We just got a female kitten who isn't spayed as
she is not yet old enough. The male was a bit wary at first but has
accepted her with great lengths - watching her, giving her baths, letting
her...

advice re moving cats to new locale by
dan glenn
I posted this message at another cat newsgroup and got two
helpful replies. I am posting it here (much larger) to see
what else I can learn.
I'm moving from my apt to another place across town in a week
and will be taking my two cats, Dan-Dan (male, at least 12yrs
old) and Whitey (female, around...

should i worry about free cat furnature by
dan glenn
I noticed someone had put out by the garbage one of those 'cat furniture'
things, where you have basically a structure covered in what looks like rug
carpet for the cat to play on.
Well, I have two cats and I thought that would be nice to pick up and maybe
my couch will last a little bit longer if...

how to introduce? by
dan glenn
I moved into a room in a house a little over a week ago, bringing two cats,
a small older (13+yrs) male and a slightly larger (8yrs) female, but still
not large (and both fixed). My cats are 'nice' - not fighters at all or the
kind to automatically challenge other cats. The owner of the house has...

Conan Airlift by
Dan M
It sounds like someone has been in contact with the OC shelter a few
times. In order to avoid confusing the issue with the shelter, would the
person who has been in contact with them care to call again, or shall I?
What I want to find is the following:
1) Would an out-of-area adoption (i.e....

Re Conan : Lest we forget... by
Dan M
This coming weekend is the 4th of July weekend. I don't know if the OC
Shelter is open on weekends, but if so they will probably be on a
different schedule for a holiday weekend. And I don't know if the
airlines get busy on the July 4 holiday - could you travel agents tell
us? Might that make a...

Is my cat sick? by
Dan M
trimming all but 2 groups
Keep on the lookout for tapeworm segments. The cat could get a tapeworm
if it ingests rodents or fleas. I had a cat years ago who used to throw
up whenever she had a tapeworm. In her case that was the only noticeable
symptom as her fecal exam came back negative....

Need advice, quickly, on partial removal of lower jaw by
Dan Mahoney
So: has anyone had experience with partial resection of the mandible,
and if so, how was the cat's quaility of life afterwards?
I will have to make up my mind VERY quickly, if the biopsy comes
back positive.
Thanks in advance.
No direct experience with the issue, but here's my two...

Anything else besides L-lysine??? by
Dana
My cat Mickey was adopted from the local humane society were he was
diagnosed with cronic URI and the suggestion was made to keep L-lysine
in his daily diet, but everytime he eats it (mixed in wet or dry food)
he ends up throwing it up. Interferon was also suggested but he has
the same reaction to...

Plays with food by
Dana
If I leave my kitten's food bowl down (she's 4 months old) she'll paw
at it to play, but then my whole kitchen floor will end up covered in
her food! I can't seem to get her to stop without putting her food
bowl on the counter. Is there another way I can get her to stop
without having to pick up...

cat fighting! help! by
Danathar
Any help would be appreciated.
About 4 months ago (Thanksgiving) I got a 2 year old pound kitty
(Marigold) that was fairly shy. We already had/have a 13 year old
(Whiskers). They seem to be ok with one another at first (with the
occasional hissing from the older cat at the younger) and...
