At least 40 felines have been mutilated in the Denver metropolitan area in the last year – four of them over the weekend – and the 11th murdered pet in Salt Lake City was discovered Tuesday at a country club. Many of the pets have been cut in half, beheaded or disemboweled. Some have had their...

Shouldn't cats clean themselves after using the litter box? by Morac
I picked up 2 young (~5 months) domestic short hair cats 3 weeks ago and they do periodically clean themselves, but they never seem to do so right after using the litter box. This becomes more of a problem when a cat is having soft stools as a small amount tends to stick around on the cat's rear...

Update on stray adoption. I think it's time to let Henry go by Brian Link
I guess I'm hoping someone will talk me out of it.. It's been almost three months now, and given the chance, Henry tears off after our little bengal, Louis. Louis is pretty beat up after the last attack, where they ended up under a bed and it took us a few moments to separate. What options do I...

MRIs for Cats at NC Vet School by Mary
I heard to day on National Public Radio that the North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine now has the ability to perform MRIs on cats and dogs. The cost is $1,200.00 and the clip I heard makes it sound like that would be full body. IAMs helped with funding. Since the vet...

Marbles Update by MacCandace
I got home from meeting my new feline brother, Henry, in Indiana to find that life at home had not progressed any as to Marbles getting along with my 2 resident cats. It's been about 2.5 months now since he moved in. Of course, there were a couple of minor altercations while I was gone...as I...

Anyone using 31-gauge x 5/16" insulin needles ? by [email protected]
I went to the drug store yesterday and they were out of the syringes with 30-gauge x 1/2" needles. So I bought a box with 31-gauge x 5/16" needles instead. I tried one of these yesterday and it seemed to work better than the ones with 30-gauge x 1/2" needles and my cat didn't feel anything at...

My FriendlyFence enclosure is installed!! by Mary
Total cost for this enclosure was about $1200, and installation was fairly easy. What lucky cats! That looks great. I enclosed my property with 8 ft fences, a lot more expensive than $1,200.
