Nutro, Science Diet, and MaxCat Canned by Mary
These are the foods I got for my cats at Petsmart a couple of weeks ago. Nutro is okay--they will eat it if I mash the chunks with a fork. (These are the cats who are hooked on Fancy Feast Chopped Grill Feast.) Maxcat is the same way--they want those chunks mashed or they will just lick the gravy...

Case of Misplaced Aggression?? by teri
Jewel (sweetheart of a cat) had a hell of a scare five hours ago. She had been happily playing with a new toy, then a minute later the other cat (Seamus) jumped off of something, onto an open paper bag. I wasn't watching but heard the whole thing - Jewel must have been on a windowsill and got...

Aaalll Together Now...TAKE HIM TO THE VET..SAY IT WITH ME YALL.. by bigbadbarry
This is such a cookie cutter answer. Some things can be cured with bisquick and coke cola. and windex. Lord, Im going to become a vet.

Cat not good - time for euthanasia? by paulfoel
Our cat, Neil, is now nearly 12 years old and has been not well for about 6 months. 6 months ago we noticed that his abdomen was beginning to swell up quite a bit so we took him to the vets. Turns out his abdomen was full of fluid and possibly his liver was slightly large. Blood tests were done...

vaccinations question by Elizabeth Blake
The two cats at work, Stinky & Harriet, have their annual checkup scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday). I just looked at the postcard I got from the vet's office and they checked off what the cats should be going in for: annual exam and under vaccinations, they checked off the box...

Help! found feral cat and kittens in my garage by Karen
Check your phonebook or with vets for a reputable no kill shelter/rescue. They probably have someone with experience who can help you out with catching them. Your plan is reasonable. Actually, mom cat might be able to be tamed. Many people have had extremely rewarding relationships adopting and...

Conan Update (A Happy & Healthy Kitty!) by cmtowle
Hello all, First off, I am really happy to be able to report that Conan is in very nice feline-friendly, although temporary, surroundings. He is with people who are very caring and knowledgeable cat-lovers. He was switched to a premium canned diet and already looks a lot better than he did on...

Lethal dose of morphine for a cat by A.J. Rivett
When the time comes and I have to euthanize my cat, I would like to do it in the kindest way. I think this would be a nice meal of tuna juice and tuna with some morphine in the tuna juice. I have been told that 5 mg of morphine should be enough and that my cat would just fall asleep after eating...

Cat biting cheek draws blood... by drfeline
Hi Cat Folx! I have been reading some of the posts here, and it seems cat biting is more common than I have had in my experience. I have owned (read: "been owned by") cats for 30 years, but I have never had a cat who bites like this one. Chandra is a 4-year old sealpoint Siamese female, already...

Babies? What babies? I haven't seen any babies.... by RobZip
With the kittens almost 2 weeks old, Sammy decided today was moving day. She moved all her babies from the maternity box to a far corner under my wife's dresser. I came home, saw the empty box and began the interrogation. "Where's the babies, Sam?" "Muwahhh?" (translation - "Huh?")...

Catfoods by Kelly Greene
Which dry cat foods have the highest content of meat? I looked at many bags at PetsMart this week and the second ingredient is always corn or some other grain. Cats are not grainavores. I did pick up a bag of Purina. She gets a meaty canned food in the evening but I don't like leaving canned...

I checked again, and also according to someone else here who checked, I have posted 352 times on this group since January 1, 2005. Let's see, 352 posts in 100 days, that's an average of *THREE AND A HALF POSTS PER DAY*!. Most of my posts were in the "flame war" regarding indoor/outdoor cats. And...

Rant: People Who Dump Cats by Sherry
Rant On. We found two baby kittens in the flowerbed this morning. We live in the country, with no close neighbors. They didn't walk here by themselves. Someone dumped them. This isn't the first time. Or the second or third. I hate people who dump animals. Hate isn't a word I use very often, but I...

I am so angry (vent) by MaryL
I am so angry!! This isn't a problem where I need any advice, but I need to vent. Some of you know that I adopted a beautiful blind kitty (Duffy) several months ago. Today I had my windows and carpets cleaned. I used the same man who has done this cleaning for a number of years -- but this...

Cat Bites by Bill
My cat bit me (in spite of heavy gloves) while trying to stuff her in the cat carrier on the way to the vet today. Several times on one finger in fact. Now that finger is swollen. No chance of rabies, since this is an in door cat - just the two of us now. Has anyone had any experience with this. Is...
